I know there are lots of better options if the money can be sorted out, but if it can't be, or they fizzle, would signing sam scarlett again on a base salary be such a bad thing? Granted he will never be our next lockyer, and will probably be pushed aside later on when our young talent pool starts gealing with experience and development, but surely he can plug a gap we have now.
He has a good kicking game, reasonable pass, a good organiser and is no worse than our current options for round 1.

He only left Melbourne so he could move to Sydney for his partner and her career. He's hardly about to postpone his retirement to move to Brisbane to come to us after all that.
