Well a very mixed day overall but a lot of fun.

Some brilliant moments again though:

- Fastest 400m hurdles ever run and a 30 year old world record broken
- Three Aussie girls into the Javelin final
- A day of gold for NZ
- The Boomers emphatic winners
- The beach volleyball girls emphatic winners over the world champs
- The Kookas into the final
- All the drama on the cycling track
- Another sailing gold medal in waiting
- The introduction of rock climbing to the Olympics

Fun all round

The Aussie boys in the sailing just have to avoid being disqualified to win the gold.

I’ll be expecting them to take it easy and just focus on finishing the race rather than winning it.

This Aussie girl is going great guns in the open water swim, sitting in third/fourth with 500m to go! She's a shot at gold here.

Speaking of decathlon, you have to watch Van Der Plaetsen's long jump, my gosh it is the funniest thing I've ever seen and then he literally army rolled out of the pit. It seems he popped something but it was just hilarious to watch in real time. He basicallyface plant dived into the pit, laid there like he'd been shot, rolled out of the pit and then left in a wheelchair, it was just ridiculously funny.

Also, Lephage (a competitor in the decathlon for Canada) is the long lost twin of Justin Hodges.
