Great win thought the first 20 minutes was a bit iffy with the ball, they looked unsure but Grant gave them direction and from there the attack looked good.

They were so desperate and the bench was huge. Holmes great in defence and Collins was outstanding.

2018 in U20 camp I said Carrigan was a future captain of the Broncos and Queensland- it's still the most impressive rep week I have ever seen by an individual and last night/week didn't change my thinking at all. It's not just on the field, he is just made for leadership in camp.

Patty was good on both sides of the ball .
Punished a cpl of guys with legit tackles . That is my biggest knock on Payne week to week - soft defender . .

Patty was unbelievable.
Haas went about his work, but didn’t seem to be too noticed out there. Over the next 12 months (if not sooner) Carrigan will go past Haas in his value to the Broncos.
Hopefully he stays injury free but there is no doubt we have a captain in waiting.

Holy **** is haas overrated

I've been saying that for a very long time. Last night was a perfect example. Commentators are rating him 8-9/10 last night based purely on his stats. He had next to no impact on the game, and that's how he always is. Everyone is in awe of the amount of work he does but it never seems to end up on the scoreboard. He trundles around at his own pace, picking up tackles and carrying the ball a few more yards than a smaller bloke might do. But that's about it.

Carrigan, on the other hand, motors around like a madman. He's volatile, unpredictable and intimidates. He absolutely had an effect on the game last night. Almost scored at one point. He's the one we need to hang onto.

Everyone on the QLD team deserved praise. Selwyn, I thought, looked at bit raw and less than himself, but he set up a try, and won't be losing his place in Perth. Oates will be the other winger.

Carrigan and Cobbo have fast become my two favorite Broncos.
It used to be Haas, but **** that numpty, the Rorters can have him.

Carrigan has always been high on my list- that week Hodges went in with no captain and said he was going to make his call during the week but I say by day two it couldn't be anyone but Carrigan.

That team had Grant, Tino, Clifford and AJ in and Carrigan was above all of them.

Munster and DCE played out of their skins last night, all over their opposites. If either gets injured, Dearden is a big step down. I might be inclined to move Hunt in there.

Carrigan is the guy we can’t lose, sweet Jesus has he become dynamic out there. Haas is like a bigger fitter lillyman, As far as I’m concerned we’re already paying haas too much. If someone looked me in the eye and said haas is worth as much as someone like Munster, I could never take you seriously again.

it’s ridiculous

I heard a rumour last night that NSW sponsors -Bryden lawyers were asking for the bank details of one of our props to pay them the sponsorship fee. There is no doubt in their or my mind Patrick Carrigan's display of dominance last night proves without any shadow of a doubt that he owns the entire Blues franchise.

Watch and learn Payne....watch and learn.

I noticed during the half time break when QLD were in the sheds in their circle, Carrigan was talking a bit and everyone was listening. Not bad on debut.

Billy speaks very well. Certainly seems to know what he's doing.

Love it when asked about our Patty , Billy said well they certainly did'nt have to put his name up on the screen to let everyone know he was on the field. His first carry made sure everyone knew he was there, and then the statement he made in his first defencive effort ...

I think he should be also, but listening to Billy post match Oates wasn't even mentioned when asked. Sounded more likely to be Hamiso.
Also a good choice.

I noticed the two Qld players that got the most hugs and high fives after the game were carrigan and capewell. Seem to both be leaders on and off the field. Good signs for the broncos.
