2023 Season.. Top 5 Predictions

I don’t think we will get the spoon. But I don’t think we are gonna give the comp a great shake next year. I predict bottom 8 somewhere unfortunately.
Your predictions @Foordy? Rather than just a predictable eye roll.

we'll have a second successive season with a winning record.

Well finish higher than the Roosters (we were only 2 wins behind them this year),

the BHQ bipolar disorder will not be cured in 2023

Storm to make the 8 but not the 4.

Panthers to come back to the pack after losing Api

Griffin first coach sacked in 2023

What does BHQ bipolar disorder mean?

1. Broncos win the premiership (from 3rd on the ladder).

2. We finally beat Melbourne.

3. Dolphins make the 8.

4. Penrith finish outside the 4.

5. Manly get the wooden spoon.
So after reading some of the other posts and threads the last couple of days, I'm adding another prediction.

6. Kevin Walters wins the Dally M NRL Coach of the Year.

Do you predict a top 8 finish?

lol sorry guys. Melbourne aren’t missing the 8. No matter how much we hope their forwards are light in depth. They have the best spine in the comp as usual.
Yeah they probably will, but they did just come fifth with a better side than they have next season.

I predict Seibold will finish higher on the ladder than Walters
This is only a chance of happening if Turbo can play out most of the season, which aint likely lmao.

They had a freakish injury toll last season

1. Panthers to go back to back to back.
2. Bronco's to scrape into the eight.
3. Dolphin's to finish in the bottom 2.
4. Adam Reynolds to retire at end of season.
5. Seibold to lead Manly back to the finals.

I predict we'll finish somewhere between 5-8

and as a bonus i'll predict a week 2 exit in the finals
I don't follow the squads and news closely, so no idea who should make the 8 really.. But I note that it seems consistent that the quality gets higher every year, and the clubs are all doing their best to strengthen the squads, and you probably need to improve as a squad to stay in the same place.

Bulldogs have done a lot to get clear of the cellar, will they be top 8?
Parra still have an awesome squad.
Roosters and Melbourne... always there
Cronulla have an awesome coach
Cowboys.. seems like they should be top 8 or better
Newcastle and the Titans and the Warriors.. probably still struggling
Tigers may surprise with Brooks (the forever Cinderella story... yet to play finals) and Api!?

Which teams are going to fall away this year? Why should the Broncs be top 8 or better?

Broncos you have ARey who is an ageing star, how his body handles the year will be important. Otherwise you have a very young squad that have an extra year of experience, that could be the most important thing for the Broncs fortunes in 23.

With the Pies prediction... He's got a lot of ambitious coaching talent surrounding him next year, Flannagan isn't planning on staying as support I predict, it's going to be very interesting to follow. When he was in Brisbane it seemed from the outside that the coaching support was selected primarily for their lack of ambition to be head coach.

1. Panthers hattrick - at least the tears from all and sundry about being egotistical/having too much fun/not having enough fun etc etc will be good entertainment.

2. Dolphins avoid the spoon, but also avoid the 8 by some margin. I think the shine is about to come off Wayno this season - that year outta the game might be a bridge too far for a guy that already looks like he might be reaching his expiry date. I still love you though Wayno.

3. Tedesco loses his spot to Suualli. I expect a bit of swapping between wing and FB for these two next year as they do an RTS style transition. Sounds a bit strange to say the Roosters/NSW/Aus fullback will lose his spot but I think the Roosters can see the writing on the wall and will start it early. Perhaps you'll see Tedesco finish his career at the Tigers?

4. Seibold goes to shit, again. I don't rate Seibold as a coach. I think it's interesting how much yardage he's got off 1 season with Souths where everything was already in place.

5. Adam Reynolds gets a long term injury, forcing us into a another disrupted season. More chatter about Adam's durability.
I'm sorry but I had to reply and laugh out loud when I read Tedesco losing his spot. He is 1 of the greatest players in the NRL and he won't be dropped for a rookie.
