2024 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

The Fox given a termination notice by the Bulldogs. He will front the dogs board next Thursday to show cause why he should not be sacked. Dogs have stated his "actions did not reflect the culture and standards they want their players to meet" - Broncos board take note, if you haven't already re: Ezra.

JAC will land at either Souths or the Saints. Guaranteed. I can already see him being a distraction at Redfern once he gets with Latrell.

The Fox is getting fired for lying to Gould and making Gould look like a fool for defending him.

He is also a repeat offender

Dragons chasing anyone and everyone. Any players willing to get on the drugs are given preference too.

Dogs were looking for any excuse to get rid of that contract... surprised it's taken them this long to sack him, but November 1 is getting closer.

Flanagan has again confirmed that Hunt will be going nowhere for 2025 ... and this is what he said about the club giving Hunt permission to negotiate with rivals for 2026

Shane Flanagan said

“Ben’s in a different situation. He wants to play again at the moment, in 2026. And I respect that.

“But from a club’s perspective, the club’s made the decision. Not me, not Shane Flanagan.

“We expect him to honour his contract.

“He had a good year. The whole club fell down in the last three rounds, not Ben Hunt.

“He needs a break and we’re expecting him back in January.’’

Poor Ben, if only Milford was the one to go. 😢

Dragons sacked Hunt.
All he needed to do was try and lure players to the club to play 6 over flanno jnr and that would be enough for him to sack you.

He is going to the Knights or Dolphins
Knights is a good shout. They have some ordinary half options in Gamble, Cogger and Hastings, and their other option is a fullback who is being forced to play as a 6.

At the Phins, SOS is average, Katoa is still learning and you then also have Kodi, who i think will have the 6 locked up. Hunt is a logical option to improve them.

Hunt wanted a release in the first place because he wanted to come back to QLD.

It's either Titans or Dolphins.

That was just an excuse to get out of the Dragons. If that was the case, he would have moved a while ago if he needed to be back in QLD. He will go where the money is, like most players do.

True , although it really depends if his motivation is to give himself the best chance to win a premiership.
Where he sees that opportunity who knows but there aren't a lot of choices esp if he wants to come back to Qld.
Warriors could be a smokey, with Johnson gone and Metcalf back.
Roosters a chance with Keary gone and Walker out for a chunk of the season.
Broncos are a smokey too. Mam would be very nervous ATM. I have no idea how the cap works if Mam were to get a massive suspension. If we were to get cap relief for something like that I could see the Broncos making a play for Ben to come home. When Reyno retires we have a Mam Hunt combo in 26 then Black comes in 27 if he's shapes up.
He's in a sticky spot TBH unless it does just come down to money then he plays for the highest bidder.

You give Hunt the #7 in front of Katoa and Sos ?
Katoa is the future .Could be their #7 for 10 years . I doubt they put him back to Q Cup for Hunt .
The only average SOS helped whip the Broncos last they met . Where does that leave Reyno in your ratings ?

Hunt would’ve made enough after being on his insane dragons contract for years, surely he wants to actually achieve something at club level in his final couple of years

Edit: if I was him I’d want to come to the broncos. Gives him the best chance to win a comp and complete a redemption arc at his junior club. If he wants to take on an insane level of pressure, more than what he felt at the dragons, then the rorters are a good shout with their outs - the media will be on him instantly. If he wants money and no chance of winning a comp then the knights, gc, phins are all good options.

I would easily put him in front of SOS. Katoa is still only 20. He is going to be in the team, but with Hunt there they have the option to rest him, or play him alongside Hunt if they make Kodi a 14. The other option is JMK does get injured a fair bit so Hunt or Kodi could end up spending a fair bit of time at 9 as well. Good teams have these kind of options available.

Just because SOS had a good game against us and Reynolds didnt have a good year doesnt mean anything really. SOS is as bang average as you can get. He's a bit part player, thats all he ever has been througout his career. The Dolphins Jock Madden. Reynolds is what he is, a good quality 7 coming to the end of his career who gets injured a bit too much these days. I'd still take him over O'Sullivan.
