I don't think he's been sacked... just told to look elsewhere.

Wont be any risk of him finding a new club... apparently his extension was only $450k and that was based on his form this year.

Uncle Nick must be handing out some serious real estate 'advice' to be getting that kind of deal
 
I hate the roosters but boy they're ruthless in their persuit of a premiership. Obviously there's a story behind it but would love to know the real motive? You would think Xaviar would be top of their list of target's and money won't be an issue. If you were a betting man I'd have Xaviar more likely to leave then stay now.
 
Brayden Trindall re-signs for 3 years with Sharks. Sam Walker also officially re-signs with Chooks for a further 2 years.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if: Hunt -> Dogs, Sexton -> us. No inside info at all, just wouldn't be surprised.
 
Might want to see what Selwyn does. If he is going to make it, he needs to prove it. If he wants to go for easy money elsewhere, fair enough. It’ll suck to lose him but there are some pretty decent backs available for 2026 right now. Savage is one example. Mulitalo another.

I recall something popping up about Cobbo potentially testing his value or something, but just sounded like manager speak

Looking at the quotes it seems like the status quo from the last update, which was along the lines of Broncos table an offer, his manager bangs on about fullback money and Cobbo set to test his value on the open market.

Looking at the quotes it seems like Madge and the Broncos are waiting to see how Cobbo turns up for preseason and then his attitude under a Madge preseason, which is fair enough... and it seems like Cobbo's manager is resigned to letting the preseason play out.

No doubt his manager will be looking for alternative offers to put the pressure on Broncos, but if Cobbo turns up to preseason with the right attitude, then I think Madge will be keen to keep him.

I think it all seems pretty fair the way it's playing out at the moment... Cobbo had a down second half of the year, but the talent and what he can do was well on show in the first half.

All parties are probably unsure of what his value is... at his best he's a centre of the year contender... but at his worst he's playing park footy in Cherbourg in a couple years.

Broncos don't want to pay 'fullback money' for Cobbo based on potential, so they're willing to let it play out and see what Madge's evaluation is over the next couple months... if Cobbo's manager finds a team that is willing to pay him fullback money he could sign elsewhere, but if that's the case then he's taking mercenary money, which isn't a great presentation of his mindset.

Which essentially equates to Broncos starting to take back power from the players and acting like the power club we've forgotten we are.
