2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

A front rower is always going to cop a lot more injuries long term than a halfback purely because of the work load expected from each player. Signing a prop to a deal longer than 5 years is plain irresponsible regardless of who the player is and Taumalolo is the perfect example of why you cant give out such long term contracts to forwards.
Dunno about front rowers getting injured more .
They run in straight lines . And aren't running and accelerating like halves . Also their sheer size . Halves are running faster changing direction more and getting tackled by people with much more size and muscle . Maybe more HIA for a prop .

Compare a front rowers body to a halfbacks body at the end of their career. 99 out of 100 its normally the props body is a lot more banged up with injuries than the halfbacks. Obviously there are always exceptions, but the proof is there to be seen with a lot more halves running around in their mid 30s compared to forwards. (ie DCE, Reynolds, Hunt, Walker, Foran, Townsend in the NRL currently compared to Mark Nicholls, Marty Taupau and Ben Murdoch Masila in the forwards in which only 1 of them plays consistent first grade)

A lot easier to find a young prop to replace them .
Not so easy to find a young half to do the job . Young props are common . Young halves not so .

I was watching Queenslander yesterday .
Talking about JT13 and his 10 year contract .
Locky said the middle forwards get more wear and tear . So , ackowledgement , you were right .

Michael Carayannis reporting that Francis Molo is set to sign with the Phins until the end of 2026. He could make his club debut as early as next week against us.

He does have to pay the Dragons back a "six figure sum" before his release becomes effective

Interesting .
He declined going to Mad Monday because he has given up drinking .
They told him he was a leader and needed to be there . It went south from there .

Thats what the Dragons want you to hear. Flanagan likes to control the narrative with his mates at fox over these issues. Its never Flanagans fault when a player wants out.

If that's actually what happened, respect to Molo.

The drinking culture in Australia can be very toxic, especially around sports teams. Nice to see someone not just cave into peer and employer pressure.

He could have gone and just had soft drinks or whatever, but depending on how he was around alcohol before, it can be very hard for people to resist when they're in a social situation and everyone is egging each other on. Sometimes it's best just to remove yourself.

I agree .

Yep, if that's what's actually happened respect to Molo and **** the Dargons for mine.

A mate of mine gave it up in 2020 after he recognised he had a problem (moreover it was pointed out to him by those close). It was a rough couple of years after that, especially when people found out.

Secondary friends at parties who saw him drinking a non alcoholic beer "Where's your skirt mate?"...shit like that. These people were always 100% remorseful after learning the reality and were obviously supportive (which is seemingly more than you can say for the Dargons) but that doesn't change how that initial reaction made my friend feel. The stigma attached to males and drinking is a massive problem.

The interview and comment happened after Monday not before. The assistant coach is alleged to have commented that would have been nice to see you Monday. He supposedly said could have just come and shake hands- no pressure to drink or anti not drinking was ever made.

I find it very hard to believe that that’s the catalyst for wanting to leave. Molo wanted out and that comment fell into his lap. He then took leave and has never been back.

I thought the Roosters were getting him but had to wait on the Klemmer deal so he could be released
