2025 Pre-season discussion. The Madge dynasty begins.

Not sure about that... I think all the words that have come out have been about his surprise he was let go.

He also played in the Dolphins game when he was injured to try and get the win... no point doing that if you want the coach gone anyway.

I think Payne just genuinely wants to be at the Broncos (given his family situation that's basically where he's based now) and he wants them to be fucking professional... absolutely nothing wrong with a player in the leadership group trying to set some standards... the club needs waaay fucking more of it to be honest.

The leadership group are the ones that have to set the standards and I would applaud Payne for bringing them together and saying shit has to change... that isnt purely a coaching thing, that can be the leadership group dragging the playing group along into a standard of professionalism and telling them that certain shit wont be accepted anymore... which is where I think Payne was coming from.
I have the feeling he’ll get his way.

A few comments from Xavier Willison I heard on the wireless this afternoon regarding today's training session:

- players are really bonding through the sweat and toil.
- We are all committing as a group, growing and getting better.
- Madge has us coming in and all having breakfast together as a group before training. It has been good.

Never been this confident for a season in a long time. I genuinely think we can take it to the Storm and Panthers.

Manly have requested that they get to play us at Brookie next season

The last time we played at Brookvale was August 1, 2014.

part of the reason we haven't played at Brookie in a decade is because of their deal to take a game to Brisbane. this deal expired in 2024

Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said:

“We want the Broncos to play at 4 Pines Park,”

“We haven’t played Brisbane at 4 Pines Park since 2014 so we have put in a request to play them at home. It would be exciting to play the Broncos at Brookvale,”

“We definitely put the Broncos forward because we haven’t played them at home for so long. I dare say that would be a sellout.

“This coming season, we won’t be playing a home game at Magic Round. Parramatta and the Roosters are also historic games for us.

“They would be big crowd pullers. We are looking for home matches where we will get a big following. Parramatta is always massive and would be a sellout.

“Every club gets requested by the NRL to nominate what home games they would like to play. We also let the NRL know that our contract for Magic Round had ceased.”

You should see the numptys saying "it's not fair broncos don't give up a home game".... money, money, money.... the sydney clubs need it....

The NRL will absolutely lock us into a Sunday 4pm game at Brookie

I had no idea clubs requested what home games they want.

Re draw discussion, easy way to fix the BS in the draw. Play everyone once, and the remaining 10 games are random except the bottom 4 do not play previous top 4 twice, and top 4 must play like 6 of the remaining 10 against previous top 8.

Easy big fella .. the Storm & Panthers have been checking all the boxes for a lot longer than the Broncos have.. it’s going to take a lot of time and repetition before we can have what they have..

But at least the journey sound like it’s begun

Yeah it's been around for awhile... it's why we get cows twice and various shit like that... NRL have to promote rivalries to sell games... so we have to play storm twice every year because of 2006.

aleast we will get a new Magic round opponent this way, tbh I always wanted a reason to go to Brookie and if we play them there I'm definitely going.

NRL asks teams how they want home games against and all these factors go into a totally random draw every year.

Nek Minut Broncos play Warriors in NZ during origin and everyone acts surprised.

You make requests, can our home games be Saturday, can we play Dragons at home.

Every club knows their best day and time to play.

Cowboys always ask for- Saturday night so people can travel.

I don`t think they will wait till half way through the season the to decide on who plays who . Season ticket holders would mutiny . How can people from regions plan to watch games live if the schedule is random . Or advertisers buying ad time know what teams will be playing for them to target audiences ?

No, Using last seasons table. A bit like a reverse race grid, so the teams who are on top have a harder draw by default and the teams who came down the bottom have ab easier draw by default.

History has shown dominant teams stay dominant and struggling teams tend to struggle for a while.

A team like the Tigers shouldn't have to play panthers, storm, roosters twice.

Have them playing other bottom feeders twice to help them up the ladder and be more enticing for signings and better viewing for the game.

It would also be good to watch the top teams flog it out with top quality football several times a year.
