2025 Pre-season discussion. Training the house down.

**** I hope not. He is a dumbass and has pulled way to much shit in the past to be able to trust him with a key position at the club. I would like our captain to be intelligent and show proper leadership qualities. Patty fits that mould and should be the next captain end of story. There is no one else at the club besides Reynolds who could hold a candle to him in regards to captaincy.

One time he refused to snitch on his mother .
another he was pissed and told a female cop to back off . Then Alby stepped on his new wheels .

Not as if he is out running amok every week end
. He has also had to take on a lot of responsibilty with the care of his siblings as well as has a stable relationship and a kid of his own .
Every Saint was a sinner once ...

I reckon Corey Parker's done a crash course at the Trump College of Logic and Creative thinking ... Kotoni at #6 while Ezra gets his crap together ... why not go the whole hog and move Payne to full back and stick Reece in the front row.

Not that Trump esque really .
There was talk of him playing #6 a cpl of seasons back . He also played in the halves for Tonga ?

Very interesting article in this morning's Tele with Broncos hierarchy raising major concerns with the fact a number of Brisbane's biggest stars are living on the Gold Coast. Current players include Reece Walsh, Pat Carrigan and Jesse Arthurs. Paraphrased below:

- internal concerns over some players living on the Gold Coast and all the travelling (160km) back and forth to training is having a negative impact on Brisbane’s performances.
- Brisbane bosses believe the full-time squad should be based exclusively in Brisbane to have "greater connectivity”.
- high performance staff have "flagged the geographic fragmentation of the Broncos and having to adjust training schedules to suit players’ travel demands" from the coast.
- a former staffer has revealed players often want to finish training sessions early to beat the peak-hour traffic.
- from now on, adjusted training schedules to suit the travel demands of Gold Coast based players will stop under Madge.
- Madge's preference is for players to live in Brisbane, if they choose not to, they will not receive preferential treatment regarding training times.
- Madge wants to build team unity and believes spending more time together is crucial, such as how Penrith do.
- 'rent a quote' extraordinare Corey Parker believes it makes no difference where a player lives and it is up to them.

More time together means more opportunities for Carrigan and Reynolds style drunk arguments. Be careful what you wish for.

If I were a Bronco, I’d live on the Coast too.

It's an issue I have flagged many times on here that very few Broncos players come from Brisbane and live in Brisbane. Obviously with the schools on the Coast it is a talent centre but once your recruitment is over, they don't want to leave.

It's harder to have a connection to the area, it's harder to get them to do social stuff together. The club has to rely on the two or three "locals" to do appearances.

There is a reason the Bunn's house was at Red Hill and young players stayed there. Keep them close, good food, great environment.

Omg. Let’s just give the Titans a leg up shall we. Ffs.

I read the article. It said there are three players that are currently living there....Carrigan, Arthurs and Walsh.

I mean, the travel back and forth from the coast didn't seem to impact Walsh and Carrigan over the past year or 2.

But regardless, all this extra leeway apparently given to certain players will be gone under Madge. He runs a very tight ship and some of the players are just gonna have to suck it up and adapt quick smart. Or ship out if they are not willing to do that.

Remember, there is no 'I' in team. Although, there are 7 in 'I am such a fucking brilliant individual'. 😚

Wasnt Mozer living with Palasia on the coast as well??

I'm sure there are heaps more.

It's been happening for ages though Alex Glenn lived on the coast.

I believe that Piakura and Mozer also live in the coast. Mozer lives with Keenan Palasia, and Piakura still lives at home with his family. Regardless, 5 out of a squad of 30 is less than 20%- it's a nothing article.

Patty and Jesse like to surf. Build a wave pool in Brisbane and they might move up.

One of the first things Bennett fixed at the Dragons was this mess of some players living in Sydney and some living at Woolongong and training being rotated at two places.

He made it one place to live and one place to train.

All the Dolphins live in two streets in Newport.

Yep, Wayne did the same thing at Souths last time he was here.

Rogers, Black, Piakura, Mozer all live on the Coast.
