2026 Pre-Season Discussion

That is an amazing photo, assuming that is the current leadership group?
Nah dont think it's the leadership group... I think that will remain largely the same as last year.

Currently Reyno, Bhunt, Payne, Patty, Staggs and Jensen (I believe because he's in that photo late last year with the above doing a lunch).

Interesting about the above is if Reyno and Bhunt retire at the end of this year, then we wont have anyone with over 200 games across the whole squad.

Jensen is next highest behind those two with 146 games, then Payne and Staggs in the 140's.

Riki and eventually Walsh will be the next ones added to the leadership group I'd say.

Piakura saying on social media that he won't be out for 8 weeks.

Says he's already back running and will be back next week.

The club made an official update he'll be out for up to 8 weeks so not sure what's going on there...
Link to NRL Physio post re Piaks... sounds like surgery would be where the 8 weeks is coming from... maybe that was indicated in the Broncos injury statement?

I'm thinking of what happened to Jack Bird when Seibs had him training at FB right after a long injury break. FB is no place for someone with soft tissue concerns to be playing, but what do I know ey? Trust in Seibs for sure :)
I think Trbojevic signed a 1 year deal to try to prove that he can still play fullback in the NRL.

I want to see us keep a side to 0 this season. Last time we did it was the Storm on 8 September 2023, Week 1 of finals. Before that it was Rd 10 2022, when we flogged the Eagles (away!) 38-0.

Our defence was significantly improved last year, but we didn't get a something-to-zip win. I want us to keep a clean sheet at least once this year. I'll even take a gritty 6-0 scoreline over a 46-14 domination.

(For those wondering, the last time we failed to score a point our halfback was Tyson Gamble, our five eighth that Karmichael Hunt, and Adam Reynolds kicked 7 goals.)
