Walsh is unlucky that he hasn’t been able to feast on shit house teams the last fortnight because it looks like Slater has the memory of an iPad addicted toddler.
 
Howarth is probably the only centre Shibasaki has played better than this year. Seriously, **** the Melbourne Storm and the stranglehold they have on this Queensland team

Chester is probably the one I’d look at if they wanted to drop Shiba - he’s been strong with his work rate and is a weapon in attack. However, the obvious option is to just play Hammer at centre/ wing and Walsh (or KP if they want to pick the side off a performance vs the dragons) at fb. Walsh is the best fb in the comp and Kp isn’t too far behind him, pick one and stop trying to be cute.

Purdue is too green + is 80kg and gets frequently physically dominated in contact at nrl level.

No Broncos at all would be perfect. But they’re going to be picked on the bench and given very little game time then miss out on games for us. Slater intentionally ****ing us while he interviews for the Storm job as Queensland coach

Shiba doesn't really deserve to be there but **** me picking Howarth in front of him is completely ****en nuts..

Ponga at halfback is another rank call from my eyes. Walsh a much better first receiver TBH..

Slater has been right most of the time with his crazy calls. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

If true, picking Howarth is an absolute howler.

Hammer, Toia, Purdue, Shiba, Chester, all better options.

At FB can see some argument for Ponga over Walsh at present, but Ponga at 7 and Hammer at 1 is pretty cooked too. Expect it to look as cohesive as the girls did Thursday night.
 
Ponga at 7 seems craziness... what is the kicking game at that point... if they went Hammer at fullback, then Ponga is basically your only kicker, although Munster did a fair bit of kicking last year when he partnered Dearden... and then to make it worse your primary kicker in Ponga is on the wrong side of the field for his left foot.

Ponga at 1 and Cliff at 7 makes far more sense to me.

Cliff has a monster boot and he outplayed Sam Walker last night, even though it was his first game all year on the right and didn't have Dearden there as a dominant half.

Hammer at fullback is odd, but he's safer under the high ball than Walsh... Ponga should be fullback though as he has that balance of being safe at the back and elite with ball in hand.

If Walsh wants to be automatic selection he needs to be safer at the back.

You can take his rocks and diamonds with ball in hand, but you can't take a 50/50... or probably more like 40/60 on every contested kick.
