9 ditching Friday night football for Royal Wedding?

Hopefully they'll stick the footy on GEM so it's in HD. 8-)

Or swap with Fox and broadcast on Fox friday night and Nine saturday night.

Or just play all games live on Foxsports HD... icon_thumbs_u

Why should I have to pay to watch the greatest sport in this country?

Not worried about anyone besides myself here icon_thumbs_u

I have Fox and i prefer my league on Fox, Because Fox sports respects League alot more. Their coverage of it is awesome.
We don't have 100 commercials and it is actually in HD.

That is why i am happy to pay to watch the greatest sport in this country...

Personally i would love it if Fox organised a deal with clubs so any form of membership at a club gives you a free sports package.

As above. Channel 9 don't care about it.

I just wish Foxtel was more affordable so people could make room in their budgets to get it.

If Foxtel had a package of just NRL games I would buy it in a heartbeat, even a pay per view. Or just $10 a month for the foxsports channels.

That is what I want, just the sport.

It is expensive for what you get, the majority of stuff on foxtel is complete trash.

It's funny how some people say Foxtel is expensive, yet they spend $6 a day on coffee at the office for 5 days a week. If they just had instant coffee, or at least cut down the amount of coffee's bought during the week, they would be available to afford the platinum Foxtel package with IQ2.

Or the people who have 1-2 takeway meals per week with their wife. If they cut it down to 1 take-away meal per week, they they would save about $80 which is more than enough for a good package in Foxtel.

Seriously, it's really not that expensive.

Really? I can honestly say I don't buy coffee and I rarely buy take-away or eat out and pretty much look for bargains wherever I can. But don't get me wrong, I'm not a total cheapskate I will happily fork over whatever amount of money for something I consider worth it (quality shoes, clothes or jewellery for example - but even then I will try and haggle to get some kind of bargain). However I definitely think Foxtel is expensive. I actually could afford to get it, but that doesn't mean I don't consider it expensive for what it is - it's just not good value for what you get IMO (pretty much what Beads said).

Rocky, you seem to generalise a lot these days. I agree that there is people that fit your description, like Robyn I couldn't justify the cost to have foxtel, we are a family on a single income and there are better things to be spending money on, one of which isn't TV.

If you got value for money it might be worth spending the $80 a month for foxtel. It is a lot to pay when all you really want is the sports channels.

Fox would be useless if you were only buying it for Fox and as a Broncos fan, 18 games are screened on FTA and the other 6 you can either get to the games, watch at the pub or just catch later on NRL.com for free.

yeah but for me I'd get the cricket which I would love.

Good call.

I'm very interested to see what will happen with Fox after the introduction of the digital channels, I can see a big arm wrestle going on.

I'm with you. It's not a matter of it being expensive, it's that it expensive for what I would get out of it. I can and do download pretty much any and all tv shows and movies I want, and the only thing I want foxtel for is the nrl. And for $50+ a month, that's not worth it to me.
