OFFICIAL A day with Seibs

I think his sense of humour will come out in the bloopers video, soon to be released.

"Get on the exercise bike, Milf!", Seibold screams. As he thrusts his arm, pointing in the direction of the gym, the sudden movement pops the bottom button off his shirt and it hits Jack Bird in the eye.

DOIIIINNNGGG.

* Camera snaps to Hodges making the Maranta face.

Tbh I don’t think they really give anything away in terms of game plans I that video - entertaining , that’s some good off season watching
Except for I can't wait to see what play "grenade" is. Turpin short kick from short range to the centre / wing

Good. It means he's generally no bullshit.
Oh nn he doesn’t have a sense of humour?!? Does Paul White know this? I assumed the interview process involves telling at least 10 to 12 jokes.

I never saw any charm, any emotional range, not even a smile in the entire video. Just like the Milford interview. Sure, they look busy as ****, but it didn't look like a happy workplace. It didn't look like a healthy workplace. It looked like somewhere you'd want to leave because all the fun has been sucked out.

I'm not drawing any real world conclusions, but that's what the Broncos have shown us this week. This is what they're using to sell memberships to us.

Looks like they all want to get home from a sterile and tedious High School class.
+ Milf being their highest paid player in the team, and their no. 1 play maker, not being in the 'leadership' group is a bit of a worry, and possibly suggests he is on the outer..

Could be the fault of the video director, too. It's their job to animate the subjects. Maybe they're the downer. We can't tell at this end.

They are out there getting flogged and drilled 5 days a week. Plenty of players who retire often state that not having the desire to go through another preseason played a part in their decision to step away from the game. If you were to go around and ask all the NRL players past and present how many happy days they had at preseason training, I don't think you'd get a very high tally.

In saying that, I don't think they looked unhappy, just focused and serious. Also there was no music used which could have completely changed the vibe of it.

And if the video showed them all cracking jokes, smiling and laughing, others would be alleging that they are not taking it seriously, no respect for Seibold, etc etc.

You just can't win sometimes.

The fact that it was serious was the most satisfying aspect for me. We've both lived long enough to know you cannot please everyone! That video was edited with a very clear intent and I believe our last game, the 58 nil drubbing strongly influenced how it was assembled. All the smiles and schoolboy giggling was left on the editing floor because the Broncos want us to know, our last game isn't forgotten.

Yes, spot on I believe.

Kinda wish BG was here to tell us everything wrong with Seibs' routine. He would be all over this.

Yeah yeah, of course they need to be serious. All I'm asking for is the faintest hint of emotion. Of any kind.

Again, contrasting with Bennett. He was flatlining 99% of the time, and then he'd crack the faintest smile and you'd know there was more to see under the iceberg. Plus he has a bit of wit.

There isn't any need to contrast Seibs with WB, it just is pointless. We didn't have an equivalent video done in the WB era so comparing them, even bringing WB up is simply taking away from this video. Every single one of us knows that the people in the video are capable of smiling and laughing but I believe most of us want to know they're capable of being totally focused on the task.

They've convinced me, I'm much more impressed by Seibold now and he's setting the tone and very clearly pointing the direction. He can smile when we've fucked Parra and when we've learned to win consistently.

I hope they have been watching their last match in the video sessions...that only and on fucking repeat!

Hopefully we see more of this kind of stuff in the future. It can benefit both the fans and the club. In my opinion it's a real opportunity to seperate our club from the others in terms of fan engagement, (interestingly a topic right now) and more importantly potential growth in the fan base. It creates a lot of positivity.

Also Seibold was very professional, no room for joking around after last season. I find him to be a very impressive person. I get the feeling this bloke will see his share of success throughout his coaching career.
