2011 vs the Drags in the finals was like a Hollywood movie. Tense for most of the runtime, then you get backstabbed by someone you thought you could trust (Beale), but you still pull yourself together and save the day.
what ??!! the guy was going up to catch a bomb in a desperate time of the game.
All I remember was him trying to imitate Slater by jumping like 2 metres into the air, trying to do a flying knee attack on Lockyer. I'll never forgive him for killing our season, just like Sims in 08 (though a lot worse). Plus him being just generally a useless player backwardsdoesn't help either.

I don't think it's fair to blame Ashton Sims for losing that semi-final in '08.
There were several turning points in that game. It was high stakes, high intensity football that went from end to end. We jumped out of the blocks to lead 12-0 but couldn't land the knockout punch and Melbourne, to their credit, stayed withijn striking distance the whole time. It's easy to blame one player but there were several players who made crucial errors at crucial times (Ennis giving away cheap penalties for example). I think the most telling point was our loss of focus when Melbourne had a player in the sin bin. The team started to try and score off every play. It was very un-bronco like.
Another thing Broncos fans have to question is where the players' headspace was. Don't forget this was the week where several of our key players were involved in an off-field incident. Can you imaging a group of Storm players going for a night out on the town during the week of a sudden death final? Somehow I doubt it.
Like most of you, I was absolutely gutted at the result but I don't think it was down to one player's mistake (it never is in RL), rather several errors that all add up eventually. . .
Nahhh ......Sims was/is a dead set useless ****.
****ing him off was one of Brisbane's better decisions.

Haha G'day Mr Fourex,
I don't necessarily disagree with you regarding him leaving Brisbane. There was a time there where it seemed the Broncos were stockpiling backrowers like there was no tomorrow. From memory, I think Sims came from the Dragons. I don't really recall him having an absolute dynamite performance for us and maybe by the end of his tenure here the mistake he made in that final was affecting him (not unlike Beale last year, perhaps?). Sometimes a fresh start does the world of good. By most reports, the Cowboys rate him highly it seems.
What a load of waffle, Sims cost us the game by dropping the ball, end of story.I don't think it's fair to blame Ashton Sims for losing that semi-final in '08.
