Incoming reports indicate Adam Reynolds will sign a three-year deal with the Broncos worth approximately $2.25 million by the end of the week. That's $200,000 less than the Sharks offered, but will include the captaincy. Thank Wayne Bennett for swaying that, apparently. Reynolds is reported to have already told his team mates he's leaving.

Nicho Hynes signature is likely to follow.

Story has high confidence. Expecting announcement tomorrow.

Damien Cook:

“I have had a chat with him where I’ve asked him to stay, he’s a big reason why I came to the club in the first place, because he was the halfback. Is it a cruel part of our game where you can’t keep everyone? It is. But we’ll see what happens.”

Reynolds’ manager Steve Gillis:

“Not once has Adam said to me I don’t want to move to Queensland, it’s not a barrier at all for him. People just assume because he has four kids, he won’t want to move, but Adam is open to moving. Adam wants the security of a longer-term deal certainly. There’s no point signing one-year deals if you plan on playing for three or four more years. He will get a three-year deal wherever he chooses to go, he is 30 years of age and Benji Marshall (Souths teammate) has shown playmakers can play until their mid-30s.”

Meanwhile, the Sharks are rumoured to be considering Anthony Milford instead. But that's more speculation based on who else is coming to market than anything solid.

So where is the credit going for this? I'm certain I'm right when I assume Nolan sat at the back of the room quietly playing with toys like a kid in the doctors waiting room while Kev and Donuts did all the talking.

if you believe the guys on NRL360, it sounds like we did the opposite of the Sharks.

after meeting with Fitzgibbon, the Sharks sent their version of Nolan to seal the deal.

we send the big guns, sending DD and Kevvie down to meet him. not to mention our initial offer wasn't an insulting lowball

With Reynolds, our 6 options should be Gamble or Staggs.

Hard no to Milford.
A basic requirement for a half is preparedness to tackle.
Milford is a terrible tackler and a liability in defence. Reynolds is not a strong defensive half either but he at least has a go. He's prepared to get in front and doesn't run alongside, tapping guys shoulders as they lay on another dozen tries.

I agree, go away Milford, please head to the Shire. I thought how funny that would be, my close mate and I would reverse roles. He'd be the one whinging about Milford and I'd be the one with the sympathetic nod. 😂

Yeah I'd way rather a makeshift centre option or a journeyman over someone who is still young and has shown elite level 6 play in the past.
That's one way of looking at it.

I see Milf as having passed his ceiling...and Gamble as slowly ascending to his. Milford MUST show more than he has in 2021 to be considered for a top 17 contract.

Please head to the shire says the sharks fan 😅

This is a quote from Reynolds manager Steve Gillis

“It looks like his deal with Brisbane will be completed in the next few days,” Gillis said.

“We notified Cronulla late (Wednesday) of his decision to pursue Brisbane.”

This is about as official as it gets until the 10 day cooling off period expires and it can be officially announced by the club.

I was listening to that and thinking boy, this sounds familiar. So glad it wasn't about us but deadset, I feel for Sharks fans because their club is heading down an eerily similar pathway to us over recent years.

Fitzgibbon has to be better than Seibold though.

He might be, but he's coming into a potentially toxic playing group in the same way pies did.... former coach unceremoniously sacked for a next big thing.

They also have like half their roster off contract and so far haven't really replaced any of them
