Did anyone see the sign held up after the indigenous boys won saying ... U R SORRY NOW???

I never was, so I guess that counts for something.

I like how the opening was all that abo crap. Where's the white man celebrating with a BBQ and Beer, sporting their Southern Cross tatts while cleaning up local creeks.

You weren't at the game were you? the whole ceremony was quite moving. They had a long blue cloth that resembled a creek and had white fellas in their hats with corks hanging off them picking up rubbish. It was touching.

Was there a deranged, failed, sheep-theif who couldn't swim?

"U R SORRY NOW???"

...wtf? Are we sorry now? Well the PM apologised 2 years ago, I'm assuming that still stands unless I missed some massive controversial take-back of the apology.

"To the Indigenous peoples of Australia... Gotta be honest, didn't really mean that big apology I made a couple of years back. I was actually just tryin to look like I cared and I was a pretty cool dude but its kinda failed. Plus I was slightly baked at the time, so my bad."

I think the players' treatment of the double try thing shows how crap they think the concept of it is. The Indig team tried it once and then gave it away when it didn't work. The NRL team basically just mucked around on it. I really hope it never comes into the game proper.

All in all the game itself was little more than I expected - typical trial/exhibition match. But agree with Coxy re one team has so much to play for and the other, not much at all really.

And re Burgess playing, well Souths had to have someone in the team and once DT pulled out who else do they have really? But I thought he played well and can't wait to see how he handles the week in week out of the NRL.

Also think Hayne once again confirmed he's largely a myth.

Verdicts:

Game was scrappy. So many dropped balls and errant passes. It is the preseason, however.

Every time Watmough got the ball he dropped it. Only pointing it out because I hate him.

Burgess is a MACHINE. I wish that kid had signed with us.

Loved the double try and quarters and huge benches, but then again I am an NFL fan. Don't want to see these concepts in the game week-to-week, but they're great for one game a year.

How is Hayne a myth Flutter!?

He still has a LOT to learn (esp defensively I guess and defensive reads) but he hardly got the ball and when he did he was pretty good.

LOL! What game were you watching? Hayne: gets ball, drops it. Tries to kick it. Drops it. Kicks it...opposition picks it up and runs away. He was utterly useless, and Joel Thompson sorted him out big time.

He showed the exact form he showed at the start of 2009. Unless he can replicate what he did at the end of 2009 he will go down as another flash in the pan.

As per my post, again it's the preseason. I'm not a fan of Hayne at all but maybe he just needs a few weeks more training under his belt to get back into the groove. There were quite a few rusty looking players on Saturday night.

I am surprised sandow wasnt picked for the indigenous team... too many halves already maybe?

Until you mentioned him then I had forgotten his existence. I imagine the rest of the world was probably the same.
Should've been there over Bird though.

Well yeah, Prince, Thurston and Soward were more than enough I'd say lol.

And to those bagging Hayne, yes I hate the little twerp as well but it's a bit soon into the season to be calling him a 'myth'.

I don't really like the idea of this game because, as Coxy said before, only one team has anything to play for. And therefore it is lame.

The 2nd try instead of a conversion thing was outrageously shit. Basically trying to turn it into NFL, and it failed hardcore. And which genius decided you aren't allowed to kick when going for the second try? That makes it almost completely impossible to score a try as you are restarting with everyone back in position (apart from the fullback, obviously).

I've always said he was a myth, so the stage we're at in this season has nothing to do with my opinion.

Sandow is a gun, can't wait to see him play for QLD one day.

i totally agree as i was watching the game i wondered whether a pacific islanders team would go alright with this sort of match and would bring a bit more feeling into the match because both teams would be representing there certain cultures and people.

LOL wtf i didnt say that

The game was entertaining but why dont we add to it, we can copy the NBA allstar weekend.

Here is a couple ideas i suggest.

A Goal kicking competetions between the best goal kickers.

A 100m sprint, the supporters vote for 5-10 players and they have a race off.

A live props pentathlon.

I cant think of anymore atm, what do we all think
