Peak milford was last seen in 2017 imo.
What bugs me the most, is i watched a highlight reel of Milf before he left Canberra, and i would have paid a million a season for that guy too.
I wouldn't pay over 500k for Broncos Milford.

Yup - if they also had threats running around them in support like Cordner, NAS, Kikau and co. it stops the defensive line from jamming in too quickly and buys them more time to make something.

And with a pack consistently laying down a platform of momentum, a spine, the organising principle around which the team is (or isn't built) where the hooker has a quality running game, a FB who moves up behind the ruck to link with our halves ... the sorry story just keeps rolling along

this guy was pretty fking good

All of these amazing plays - Milford is trim, agile, fast and super interested.
We don't have that same player these days, for whatever reasons. Can he get that fire back? I don't know, but that player has all the potential in the world.

Shouldn't make any difference according to some. Great halves make the team and coach look like superstars.

Sorry but this sort of statement bugs me !
So many players that have quick feet and pace with talent, will always RIP it up in their first year. So many players have done this for only to be targeted the following year's, it's because they are an unknown.
Watch teams swarm the million dollar Fifita next year, teams will have a plan for him I'm sure.

Obviously it won't be as easy to see Fifita's impact if this is the case, but in order to swarm a second rower, you got to either leave space on the inside or outside. Regardless, not saying it is a certainty yet with the Titans but any halves worth their salt would be able to find him a 1 on 1 a few times a game. Either way it opens up the game for our backs with him as an added threat. If I see teams focussing heavily on Fifita I am putting money on Brimson and Kelly making linebreaks etc. all night.

Also I won't quote the post as there is a few surrounding it but, Milford not performing as well because the team lacks go forward, I couldn't agree more with. It is why I have felt bad for Taylor throughout. He has literally been expected to create everything for us in attack for years. You can still see sometimes they just pass to him in poor positions and expect a miracle. I am sure next year, he will improve out of sight with the weapons he has around him. The only half that you can probably say has shone in recent times in a subjectively poor squad is Morgan in that 2017 Cowboys team. You could tell the GF was as far as they were getting but it was still bloody impressive. In saying that he had also played for both QLD and Aus before this and was a lot more experienced than either Milford or Taylor.

I agree to a certain extent but teams get a better read on players after the spotlight is shone on them, it's only the real good players who continue on the steep upward trajectory.
I don't know about David Fifita yet he could go either way, but he has only shown flashes of brilliance. This may because of youth but it's early days , and do the titans have the players to use him correctly I'm not to sure.
I was a huge Taylor fan but even I admit he's been a bust and he's running out of time, Milford over the past two seasons is probably on par.

The thing that stands out to me is he is smiling. When was the last time we saw him smile?
