Was told a pretty interesting Alfie story earlier this week.

Back in 1997 when the Rams were set up Alf was finding the public and media in Brisbane difficult to deal with and seriously considered asking for a release so he could play in Adelaide where the public and media there wouldn't be much and so he could have some anonymity. But Bennett talked him out of it.

He wasn't thinking about it, he did ask Reebs.

It was end of '95. David Pie, Alf's manager once he was convinced it was what he wanted was organising a shift. Reebs said I'll come to your house and we will discuss it- he sent Bennett instead and he stayed.

He came close to going to the Coast in '91 as well.
