NRL probes alleged salary cap breach involving Gold Coast Titans Skipper Scott Prince

THE NRL is investigating an alleged salary cap breach involving Gold Coast Titans skipper Scott Prince.
A special Daily Telegraph investigation has received allegations from a former club sponsor which claims it had an agreement to build Prince a new $400,000 house, free-of-charge.

Both Prince and the Titans have denied the claims through their lawyer.

The full story - including exclusive evidence and documents - will be revealed in tomorrow’s Daily Telegraph

I'll be following with interest.

Why ??
Why do you think ??
If any team was invovled in a potential salary cap breach as big as this I would be keen, the consequences could be huge for the titans and could cause huge damage to their reputation.

Fair enough, I really couldn't give a #### I just want to watch good footy.

Yeah same, I don't care about the club. It's more that if it happens it's going to drag on in the media for aaaaaaaggggggeeeees.

$400,000 house..... they said nothing abiut the land it was to go on....

Touche. If the land wasn't included, then yeah, it'd be a bit pricey, I guess lol.

Yeah they did say "build" a 400k house. If that doesn't include land than you can an awesome house for 400k build only.

Statement from Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Managing Director Michael Searle

Dear Titans Stakeholder,

You may be aware that The Daily Telegraph Newspaper and other media outlets have published various allegations made by Mr Alex Simpson of Simcorp Developments & Constructions Pty Ltd to the effect that the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans and Scott Prince have been involved in salary cap infringements. Those allegations are entirely false.

Mr Simpson and Simcorp have been involved in litigation against the Titans for the past several weeks, and these allegations are merely the latest in a long line of incorrect assertions.

We have opened our books to the NRL and welcome any investigation of this latest complaint, confident that a comprehensive investigation will quickly demonstrate there has been absolutely no breach whatsoever of the salary cap provisions.

In the meantime, we’ll continue in our building dispute with Simcorp. We stand firm that we have paid in full every cent owed to Simcorp (including all payments due to subcontractors) and we are confident that litigation will end successfully for the club in the very near future.

As the court case is still on foot, we are limited as to what we can say about the matter generally. However, we can assure you that the club is very confident of its position moving forward and we fully expect that the truth will be revealed in its entirety in due course.

Yours Sincerely,

Michael Searle
Managing Director
Jetstar Gold Coast Titans
