Alleged salary cap breach involving Titans Scott Prince

GOLD Coast captain Scott Prince last night denied allegations he was involved in a plan to build him a $400,000 house in a salary cap rort to keep him at the Titans for life.
The NRL has confirmed to The Daily Telegraph it is investigating explosive allegations which stem from a multi-million dollar dispute between the Titans and a Gold Coast builder. Alex Simpson claims Prince signed a five-year contract extension with the Titans last April on the understanding he would receive a new $400,000 house free of charge."The allegations are untrue," said Prince, who has sought legal advice.

I love how someone on the comments claim that the Broncos/Storm have been rorting the cap for years.

Titans have been cleared of any wrongdoing. No breach of the cap.

No-one could back up the Builder's claims other than the builder.

Good, now lets get on with the Season.

And its open again!

NRL salary cap auditor Ian Schubert has begun making fresh inquiries, after The Sunday Mail provided new information to the NRL, including a statutory declaration from star witness Steve Kearns-Healey.

Kearns-Healey claims he was privy to a conversation in which he heard Prince allegedly tell Simpson "I know you are building the house for free."

Why did they re-open it? No-one can back up this builders claims other than the builder.

Let it go guys, ugh. I hope this gets resolved ASAP.

Finally the Titans are going to be shown for the cheats they are!!

I can't imagine how much Scott Prince would be whinging about this. Little ******.

Now he gets no free house and still misses Origin... Sucks to be 4th best.

Um, the point is that it was dropped cause no one could back it up, apparently someone can, why would it be dropped?

Personally, considering how we can smashed from pillar to post by the salary cap, I would be quite shirty if another team was able to get away with breaching it

+1.
They seemed to close the case pretty quickly in the first place, I don't think anything will result of this re-opening though.

Exactly. And the only reason the Bulldogs got caught was because someone dobbed them in and leaked the evidence.

Just because they are under investigation doesn't necessarily mean they're guilty of a breach.

Technically, every club should be under investigation at all times. Should be monitored very closely.

Yes, but particularly clubs like the Titans who seem to have a big name signing or two every season and let relatively few players go.

Something fishy there!

Meh, this guy is just as dodgy as Simpson IMO.

And the Bulldogs can fork out money for Kimmorley, Ennis, Hannant and Steve Turner and they're not fishy?

Mason, Shrek and SBW would have taken up a large chunk of their cap.

Especially Money Bill. The rest of the roster has been filled with nuffies for some time.
