Andrew McCullough: My diary of pain & hope

Don't say that to loud around here. Macca is the broncoshq scapegoat when we lose a game he's the everyone likes to blame. I love him though HAHA
Oh really? Yeah he's a work horse.
If only everyone could defend as well as him, we wouldn't loose to many.

He's been my favourite player for a couple years now, most consistent Bronco for the past 5 years.

Yeah him a Gillet have been my favourites for years. Hodges was my all time favourite growing up. I'll be interested to see how Maca goes next year.. I think he will be back better then ever

please ... he wasn't even close to the BHQ scapegoat in 2017...

With Hunt gone, the race is wide open to see who gets the position for 2018

"Dummy half service is slow, gets us no momentum"
"He's so slow"
"Hunts better than Macca"
"Our attack is amazing now Macca is gone"(even though our defence turn to shit.
"Wish we could give dragons Macca instead"
That's all I would read when Macca got injured.

Let me start by saying I’m a big fan of McCullough, and why wouldn’t you be - so much to like. With that said, every player has a weakness and his is definitely a lack of speed.
He is that slow that it makes you wonder if he’s been carrying a serious knee injury his whole career. In fact, maybe even both knees?

if i listed all the shit said about Hunt this year, I'd be here all night trying to type it out

You need to read more posts if you think Macca is the scapegoat.

Hunt or Milford. Sometimes, Boyd.

Macca isn't a scapegoat (though I did see a few posts about him costing us the game against the Cows in the Grand Final), he's just not particularly great outside of tackling. Then again there seems to be a big lack of quality hookers in general in the NRL, with only Smith being top tier and everyone elses struggling to even come close. It would be funny if Smith still shits on everyone when he's 37 or something.

He is a hooker, he is definately faster than the best hooker of all time in Cameron Smith. Didn't he nearly chase down Michael Gordon. Ankle tapped?

Macca is a scapegoat he always has been, you fellas on here always blame him. Relax though, we shouldn't be arguing about who's the scapegoat. Any footballer knows not just one player loses you a game.

Obviously Macca is not as slow as you all think, he's got some pace to be able to pull this off.

They're talking about his dummy half speed mate, not his running.

Personally, I think he's made to look bad by a lack of a dominant playmaker.
We've looked like we're making up plays on the fly for about 5 years, so the dummy half has to think about what he's going to do at the same time he's doing it.

Watch the Storm, they all know exactly what's coming on the next 2 plays, so Smith just puts the ball in the right spot - no time wasted thinking about it.

Obviously no-one is talking about his running speed. We're talking about his speed of passing from dummy half.....which is slow.

I personally don't think his passing from dummy half is that slow. If there was something I wanted to see him improve on next year it would be is attack. But hey, if we pointed out everything each player needed to improve on we would be here all day.

Thanks Mr Fourex, but I was definitely talking about his running speed. Once he gets going he's not terribly slow, but off the mark it's like he is running in quick sand. IMHO anyway.
And for the record Taylor1921, 2017 Michael Gordon is not even close to the same Michael Gordon of 10 years ago in terms of speed. Nonetheless, that was a truly dogged effort from McCullough - just one of many of his great characteristics.
