Anthony Milford Discussion

Tallis is full of shit as usual. As I've said many times, if he can play behind a pack who puts the defence on the back foot, he will thrive, just like those other halves he mentioned.

I always read and enjoy the comments that you guys make and rarely feel the need to throw my own 10 cents worth in but the so-called Raging Bull is one of the biggest disappointments in the history of league imo. Ha had an amazing career and was one of my all-time favourites, the passion he showed on the field was incredible. BUT!! ... since he "retired" he can't let go of the anger at one of the few people who got the better of him. People like Tallis, Johns (Andrew), Lewis, etc etc should either keep their clackers shut if they can't say anything constructive or get a gig in coaching where they can actually make a difference rather than sitting behind a microphone dispensing their bile from the relative safety of a radio/tv studio !!! One of the things I always enjoy about Origin is seeing Trevor 'the axe' Gillmeister and Alfie Langer running around Suncorp, still involved, still making a contribution not burbling away in the box agreeing with everything Gould mutters. (sorry getting off-topic)
OK ... I feel better now guys ... thanks for listening.

No problem, that will be $500.00 for the consultation and should we make an appointment for the same time next week and lock that in for the next six months? By the way, do you have private medical insurance?

I think I'm going to watch the matty johns show for a laugh....

Fletch and Hindu are funny but not as funny as watching Tallis justify Milford being a flop at 5/8th but somehow we still made the prelim final with our dominant half not being any good at that position....

And for all those agree with him about Milford... my argument?

Tallis agrees with you, you're wrong...

Hindu? I didn't know Bollywood covered the nrl.

Even with Milford being overweight earlier in the year, he was still chosen ahead of Morgan and Munster for Game1.

Our opinion is irrelevant and the guy is still a baby. Give it time peeps.

Mahat Macoat. Wow, that takes me back.

In either Year 7 or Year 8 DAT (Design and Technology), we had to make a matchbox - like draw up the plans with those fancy rulers and shit, then put it together. Anyway, I ended up decorating mine with a picture of Mahatma Cote because I thought the Footy Show was hilarious back then haha. This was like 2003/04. I think Trent The Flight Steward also featured.

So, yeah... there's a crappy anecdote for y'all. :D

It actually was funny back then tbf and they still managed to discuss footy.

It's funny watching a Milford 2014 highlights package. Most of his tries or try assists were classic 5/8th efforts, nothing that he couldn't be doing now it's just that he had a 1 on his back (but even the raiders changed that to a 6 before the season finished). He has always been more of a 5/8th who played fullback for a season rather then the other way around.
What I did find interesting though was 90% of his work was done on the right side. I never picked up on this before. Bennett surely couldn't be playing the long game with Milford, locking him into the left side while hunt was there to work on it knowing milf would be lethal on the right side anyway and he could be unleashed on both sides one day. One can hope that's the plan because that would link him up with Roberts and the more involved he is the more dangerous we are.

I think he is suited to right side play as well. His try against dragons was on the right side and the plays he set up against the cows were on the right side.

I think it's why he looks best with kodi because he is willing to overcall him and make plays down the right whereas with everyone else he just sits on his left side

How much kicking and running will Milford be able to do whilst recovering from his shoulder surgery? His predicted return date is 4-6 months away and he's aiming for round one which is 5 months away. I am worried we aren't going to be getting an improved Milford to start the season. Recovery, lack of training plus Christmas with the family. I hope Kodi works hard in the off season because unless a switch flicks I can't see Milf being ready in round one.

The 1 good thing that comes from Milford’s recovery is that he has to do a lot more fitness training.
