RUMOUR Anthony Seibold offered $1 Million to leave

Options on the table appear to be:

1. Take the money and run. Never coach the Broncos again.

2. Return and coach the rest of the season. Negotiate an exit.

Either way, he won't be back next year. If he takes option 1, Peter Gentle might take over for the rest of the season.

Glenn Lazarus is tipping Kevvie to take the reigns:

“Kevvie is the man, he is the perfect guy to come in and address some of the issues at the club. I don’t believe the players are happy there, that’s obvious in the way they are playing. Kevvie would bring a real injection of enthusiasm. The Broncos need someone who understands the DNA of the club and Kevvie knows the club inside out. He would turn the place around. It won‘t be a quick fix no matter who goes in, but Kevvie is a Broncos legend and would have the support of every Broncos fan."

“He took a hard stance as Queensland coach for standing down all those young bloke a few years ago so Kevvie has shown he can make the tough calls. He loves the club and would be hurting more than most. Walters twin brother Kerrod believes Kevin could handle the role he has coveted for his entire coaching career."

Kerrod's of course standing by:

“I think Kevvie can do it. In the words of Ivan Cleary, if there was a bus it would be full. It will be a tough gig but Kevvie loves the club. He is passionate and had success as a player. He knows what it takes. He’s worked with some of the best coaches in the game and his Origin experience has been good. He took over a team at the end of an era, won his first two series and the last two have been very competitive coming down to the last minute. It’s time for him to get his opportunity.”

@Huge this might interest you. According to Rothfield Flanagan is finishing up at Saints in 5 weeks, he only ever signed on for one year as an assistant to Mary.

SHOOSH VII

Which highly-regarded official from a rival club is being considered by the Brisbane Broncos for a role as a general manager of football next year on a revamped management team. This guy is a good operator who can fix their culture issues.

I wonder who this might be??
That’s exciting tbh

Take the money and run Seibs.
bow out gracefully, invest the $1M in some safe dividend paying shares and go find a nice assistant coaching role and learn from your mistakes.
Vanguard High Yield ETF would go very nicely for Seibs.

I'll admit I'd be over the moon if Flanagan gets involved. Yes, I hate the ped thing but every days a school day and I think he's probably learned a hard lesson from that experience.

I won't get my hopes up but his hard nosed approach would at least get us part way to where we all want.

Kevvie or Green to take over the rest of this year?

I’d say Gentle. A deal would need to be worked out for the next coach and I’d say whoever that is would be waiting to see what happens with the Ceo appointment.

All future contracts need to have a “if you don’t make the finals you are releasable with Six months notice”

The real world has six months of performance management plans before you can fire them, why not these guys
