SYDNEY Roosters are in crisis yet again over another alcohol related incident involving one of their star players.

Utility player Anthony Watts is being interviewed by police this morning at Marboubra police station over an alleged domestic assault.

The Telegraph Online can reveal Watts spent the night out with Roosters superstar Todd Carney before the incident occured.

Roosters boss Steve Noyce says it is yet to de determined whether Carney, who is attending Alcoholics Anonymous was drinking .

"I'm driving back from the Central Coast and will be investigating it further this afternoon,'' Noyce said.

The incident occured after the Roosters terrible performance against the Broncos in Gosford on Saturday night where they were beaten 24-6.

Give Carney the benefit of the doubt about the drinking until proven otherwise, but if he was drinking, then by rights he should be sacked and banned from the NRL again. He's back on the strict proviso that his drinking is under control, which it appears it's not.

Watts is the latest in a long line of recent Roosters troublemakers. Jake Friend, Nate Myles, Carney...it keeps happening, and the club fails to take decent action.

Time for the NRL to step in, IMO.

Didn't Fittler apply an alcohol ban a few years back at the Roosters? And decided to can it because the players got upset about it. And they subsequently got into trouble (and so did Fittler himself)?

The Roosters have a booze culture that's even worse than the Broncos was around 2008. And Noyce has absolutely no balls to do anything about it.

I really think the whole "booze ban" thing needs to be a player decision. I would love it if the coaching staff could implement one but, in reality, it seems to just cause bitterness and discontent in the playing group.

The Roosters' problem is that they don't have a leadership group strong enough to say "enough is enough". There's no respect there for each other or the club - that's an issue that goes deeper than alcohol.

Or the players could grow up and not drink until their naturally stupidity takes over.

The NRL should give Supernanny a call

This. But unfortunately NRL players seem to be retards that can't work out how to drink without overdoing it.

Watts is a ****, played cricket with him when I was 17.

So glad we got rid of him.

I hated him playing for the Cowboys.

The only **** I would ever play with is mine. And I definitely wouldn't play cricket with it! [icon_lol1.

Plus he named it as well

There was a thing on the Today Show this morning talking about head collisions and concussions in sport and the damage it does etc etc etc. But one of the things the 'expert' chick was saying is the head knocks are probably to blame for behaviour such as this as it mostly affects the frontal lobes of the brain, which affects impulse control, social interaction behaviours (ie treatment of women) etc. Whilst I am sure there is some affect in this regard I really think she was over-stating it. I can't wait for players to latch on to this and then put the blame for their behaviour squarely at the feet of the sport they play, instead of taking personal responsibility.

Exactly Rock. And take a look at the footballers who do get themselves in trouble on a regular basis - I wouldn't say many of them would be amongst those copping the massive head-knocks on a regular basis.

Lolz. I am sure it's "somewhat" true. But this is a society problem, not a rugby league problem.

Take 1000 League Players and 1000 people from the general public. Purely at random. Do you reckon that the percentage of people who involved themselves in these altercations would vary much between the 2 groups? I don't reckon. Seriously, half the people I've seen throw punches at Kings Cross at 2am don't seem like footballers, they are scrorny little 20 year olds or try hard over-weight lebs.

Going by her logic, Martin Lang must have a lengthy criminal record by now.

I'd say the footy players would come out worse than the randoms, purely because of the egging on from team mates, and other dickheads around them.

I get what you're saying though. It's not just a football thing, it's just when a nobody punches another nobody, it doesn't make the media.

As far as I am concerned what you do when you are drunk you can do when you are sober if they circumstances are right.

Anthony Watts... Anthony Watt... Anthony Wattmough.... Watmough.
Think about it. You've never seen them in the same photo together.

Someone said to me that everyone's got his name wrong. It's Anthony Watt. There's no way his brain could be generating more than 1 watt of electricity.

I'd say Carney's career is over. I hope the NRL kick him on his ass.
