Ashes 2015 Series in-game thread

Brad Haddin won't be playing in the next test due to "personal reasons", Peter Nevill coming in for him.

Yep. I'm excited to see how Nevill goes. Hope Haddin is ok.

In terms of the team, Watson has just been given a lifeline for the umpteenth time. There is no way the selectors have the guts to go in with MMarsh and Nevill at six and seven with so little experience. Watson has to be the luckiest guy in world sport.

I'm not 100% sure, but Fox Sports was just talking about Haddin not playing and they were kinda alluding to the fact that it's a mental issue he's facing, potentially due to his performance in Game 1, and he's seeing the team psychiatrist.

Similar to what happened to Jonathan Trott last year I guess.. that was performance and confidence related.

Probably not such a bad thing if that's what it is. Last time he missed a test it was because his daughter was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer.

Well there you go, Twatto has been dumped for MMarsh. Good move IMO but it's now sink or swim for the Aussies.

Really? Great news!! Is there a source that I can read it up on?

England were just far to good for us in Cardiff. Just imagine if he got Root out on the first day I believe that moment was the turning point of the game as we gave him a second chance and he took it and played a big part in their 1st innings and put the game out of reach for us.

Always thought England would come fired up after their humiliation here last time so I'm not to surprised they won.

Bit dissapointed to see Haddin dropped as he has been one of my favourite players for a while but I'm looking forward to see Peter Nevill play. He had a great season in the shield last year and hopefully his batting while prevent another collapse like in Cardiff.

I'm surprised he doesn't follow the Poms lol

Haddin hasn't been dropped and it's nothing to do with him it's a family member.

Very interesting keeping at Lord's it's a hard place because the slope and the ball swings after the batsman. He's kept before there against the country side.

It's overcast so it will be hard early to bat then be nice to bat there, batsmen love it there.

Lord's has been our home ground, won 14 of 35 games and England only 7 wins.

We'll if not for that brain fade from Warner, we would be dominating.

I would much rather punch a baby in the face then cheer for England in anything. When it comes to cricket i'm Australian and mightily proud of it.

1/337 at stumps.

Rogers 158*
Smith 129*

What a Leet start to the game.

Leet start is the perfect description. ;)

Bell dropped smith on 51 and hasn't Smith made them pay!! It's a dead pitch but there is plenty of swing early on, so let's hope our bowlers can make the most of it.
