Ashes 2015 Series in-game thread

Leet start is the perfect description. ;)
That's the leetest start I've seen. I've never seen leeter.

Bell dropped smith on 51 and hasn't Smith made them pay!! It's a dead pitch but there is plenty of swing early on, so let's hope our bowlers can make the most of it.

I only just got it... derp!

I've been following on cricinfo which is in international or "wrong" format, so it looks like 337/1.

Great response by the Aussies ... Poms clearly intent on blunting our bowling attack by producing dry, lifeless, featherbed wickets .. Reckon we could turn that against them by putting up a massive score today of 600+ and letting the poms sweat it out trying to basically survive for the final three days .. As Cardiff and hundreds of test matches before it have shown, batting second when your opposition has posted a big first innings total creates its own pressure - even on the most docile of pitches.

my god our middle order is like swiss cheese .... Clarke, Voges, Marsh = smh

Marsh is a gun, just give him time. I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke retires after this series and Voges will come good, just needs to settle his nerves.

Hazelwood ball to dismiss Bell. OMG. He , Starc and Cummins are going to torment the Poms for the next decade.

First 200 away from home since 2006 with Gillespie. First Ashes 200 since Langer at the MCG in 2002.

That was just classic cricket yesterday; put on 500, unleash your bowlers and have them a couple down at stumps.

how i feel when Ian Healy is commentating...

Australia well in control. They need to go out and bat for about ten - fifteen overs of sheer brutality or less, just get to a lead of 400 and go nuts with the ball.

I reckon they'll go for a lead of 500 with a declaration 20 mins after lunch.

Your forgetting someone just as good. James Pattinson
Yes . I did forget about him. There are probably a few others on the fringe as well that could push for selection. I've got a feeling Pattison will come back stronger than ever after this run of injuries. Will be interesting to see how Chad Sayers develops for a bit of variety.

So the substitute fielder can field in the slips? Has this always been the case? I thought the slips were seen as a specialist position.

Probably not but Watson did it and he's too lazy to field anywhere. He was probably just waiting for the ump to review it anyway.

LOL Stokes what an awesome throw by Johnson though
