Ashes Discussion

Yeah I personally feel like the side might be unchanged. There not going to drop Harris off one innings unless he ***** up here

Marsh is going berserk 40 off 17.

Four sixes in a row off Yates.

Australia A declare 4/349

lead 459

Street 119
Marsh 60 off 27

Nice little bit of pressure on Marcus Harris there. If he fails in Adelaide, I think there'll be calls for Street to have a crack. Only a 143 & 87 in 9 innings for Queensland this season at an average of 36, but that ton for Australia A will help immensely.

Harris is only averaging 36 in Shield this year as well, and 39 for the career. He's got very little case for deserving a prolonged stint in the side if he's failing every innings.

There is pressure on Harris but it’s not coming from Street. He’s never even had a good Shield year- best 489 runs and never averaged out of the 30’s.

Hunt hasn’t got big runs this game but has looked good. Two nicks behind was a concern but he’s been going strongly in the Shield for two years and is the form opener- Only Green, Marsh and Head have more runs than Hunt since his debut.

Carey has been sensational. Great debut. Tidy and professional.
Most dismissals by a keeper on debut .
Positive body language .

Hunt was sub fielder at the Gabba this morning .

Need some help getting that egg off your face?
What were we even doing playing on day 4? Why did England get back in the game in the first place?

2 dumb shots and 2 tail enders. The English were terrible today so I'm not sure why you want to give wraps to Lyon. I'm glad he got to 400 but I (and many others) want him out.

2 dumb shots? lol

I reckon Neser deserves a chance before Richardson in Adelaide if one of our front line bowlers can’t play. He would be very handy with the pink ball and with the bat.

Lyon only got one more wicket than a rookie all rounder despite bowling 3x the overs

Lyon was fun for the memes but I’ve never been completely convinced he’s as good as people say he is.

I’m sure if you gave any other spinner the same amount of time and opportunity they’d achieve the same

He got the wicket that opened up the game for us, England batted well, downplay their efforts all you like.

Lyon is the one who changed the way that game was going, if those 2 were still batting when the new ball came and they got through that, god knows how long they bat for, give him the credit he deserves. He would be a front liner in any nation that isn't a sub-continental team. The reason being is that in the sub-continent they produce far more spinners than we do and obviously basic law of averages will tell you they are going to get a handy one.

Lyon must've smashed your missus or something.

Yes but that in itself is the problem, no other spinner we tried prior to him deserved to keep their spot due to their inconsistency and the like.

Not saying I disagree but Richardson would be near unplayable in twilight conditions, he’s also more than handy with the bat.
