Starting to get to the point where Smith needs to show that he can counter punch these short pitch tactics against him.
If he becomes a walking wicket to prolonged short pitch bowling then teams wont care about leaking 30 runs or so knowing that at some point he'll just pop one of these balls up to a catcher
SavageCan you say a player is beaten for pace if the 'fast' bowling is too slow?
Robinson troubles batsmen because they have played three shots before the ball actually gets there. In fact, I wonder if the ball is actually TENET.
Most frustrating thing is both of them don't mind throwing their wickets away. But seriously, I know Smith hasn't been in great form for a while (hasn't played much to be fair) but imagine bowling against two guys with legit averages above 60, that would be deadset terrifying.

Short pitch crap bowling not hitting the stumps could easily pick up both of them
Smith is only about 33... should have at least another 3yrs in him.Yeah but every player is one ball away from throwing it away, Aussie's next gen like Head, Green, opener 2 need to start picking up some of the slack for when Smith and Warner move on.

Warner though... and the state of openers across Australia
It is because a lot of batters in white ball cricket who open are firstly unwilling to put time and effort into red ball cricket and secondly open in that format. It’s a shit job not to many people want. But if your a good bat and you want your way into this side grow some balls and go open for your state instead of bat 3,4,5 or 6 I say.Yep, openers are a huge problem moving forward. Harris is just not good enough and they really needed him to fill the gap. Pucovski is a head knock away from retirement and Hunt, Street and Ward are all unproven at this level too.
