Speaking of commentators, here I am enjoying India and South Africa and guess who pops up on commentary, Mark stinking Nicholas. So off the tv went.

People grew up watching Shane Warne spin it in every direction with multiple different variations, spinning it at right angles, that's what they expect in a spinner but that's not reality.

I find the last part of your post to be a little gem, you were fine with using Root as an example when Root was getting wickets in the same way. The context of it was that you were saying Root bowled better than Lyon on the basis he picked up wickets, yet when Lyon picks up wickets, it's not okay to get wickets like that.

See, I know within myself that Lyon is by far a better bowler so I don't understand one thing, you've come here in each test talking Lyon down, as if he's the work experience kid who just gets wickets because he's in the right place at the right time, I am yet to hear it from you who you think would do a better job or who has done a better job since Shane Warne retired. Enlighten me on that, so I have more to go with rather than thinking he took advantage of you at some point in time and that's the reason you have it in for the bloke.

It's fine to dig the boot in but who would you go with? He's by far the most consistent spinner we have and that's ultimately what gets wickets in Test cricket, no miracle balls, no mystery spin deliveries. It's line and length over after over.

You need to watch the fucken game champion. Nathan bowled exceptionally well last game and once he got his 400th he bowled well in the 1st game as well. Like I’m not sure what you are expecting from a bloke who just came back from the shittest 12 months in his career. He is doing well and I can guarantee you that nobody in Australia can do better. Your that fucken clueless that your probably going start chucking up names such as tanveer or Zampa for **** sakes. Your likely the exact same bloke who was raving about Kuhnemann for doing the exact same thing earlier in the shield season. Nobody in this damn forum thinks he is amazing but at the same time **** me there isn’t a single spinner better than him in red ball cricket apart from Ravi Ashwin. The matter of the fact is your expecting something that doesn’t exist in the cricketing world at the moment for any country so to have a spinner we can consistently pick and has got us 400+ wickets over the past 103 tests is great. I say you should be pretty fucken happy we have got him cause he has gone a long way to our success for a number of years (up until last but let’s be real nobody had a great series so he definitely is not alone).

I just want to ask you this so you can reconsider your stance, Ajaz Patel got 10 wickets 3 weeks ago or whatever. Based off your logic he only got 6 legitimate wickets. Is that your stance on that as well? I will ask you again did you or did you not idolise and hype Starc for the last 7 years as a result of him practically taking tail Enders (and swinging the ball in his 1st spell)? I get it your frustrated that he isn’t the same player but that doesn’t make him shit or any worse than any one else available in the country cause he isn’t. I love Mitch and he is the only one even relatively close but at the same time he is miles off Lyon and consistently playing test cricket. I don’t even necessarily disagree that much with you on some of things your saying. To be fair I do have an issue with what your saying as well to an extent but I think what everyone has an issue is with your one eyed view on his performances in a very ignorant manner to take away from his current successes and past successes. Like you were complaining about a 2.54 economy rate when Cummins the golden boys was 2.40 and Starc and Boland were in the high 3’s. You talk about taking bowlers wickets as being illegitimate yet Starc’s career was made up of bowlers wickets and not just that he was idolised for it. I’ve got no issue with you having the opinion that Lyon is bad but start using stats that wouldn’t suggest everyone’s careers or performances aren’t as good as they were cause they took bowlers wickets or there economy in 14 overs when one of them you got whacked was at a highly respectable economy rate of 2.54 which did nothing for your argument.

Labs didn't make a bucketload of runs, Australia is 3 down and Harris is still there, what the heck is this? It certainly isn't cricket.

Different states, different rules. In Melbourne, you only need to isolate if you live with a positive case, so it would depend on who the case is and which player they are related to. It is also very subjective because the government here is not as strict as SA or Qld.
 
Credit where its due, this is a good fighting innings from Harris. He's playing with soft hands and taking full advantage of his favourite shot - the edge through slips.

I hope he goes on with it because he has done well so far though I suspect he will get himself out shortly.
