No 60 mtr boundaries either.Remember ; No field restrictions , the pitches are greener , no wides outside leg and bowlers can bowl as many overs as they wish .

IMO they just need to be better at what they're doing in Test cricket. Plenty have been having their say on the merits of their domestic setup and how that supposedly isn't doing enough to prepare English players for red ball cricket in all conditions. They seem to have few troubles identifying the root of their problems but there doesn't appear to be much optimism in regards to implementing the changes they believe they need to make to yield better performances in red ball cricket abroad.Yes of course, I'm aware of the reasons its a terrible idea but their current approach yields nothing.

Anyway, that's for them to figure out. I hope they do because like all cricket purists, I want to see Test cricket thriving across the world.
I actually think Cricket Australia has a bit to do to ensure we can continue to be strong in Test cricket and better than we are now in a couple of facets - ie batting.
I'd be picking the bloke already in the squad, Usman. The Australian test team is going to be in trouble as soon as Warner retires and that likely isn't far away, regardless of him saying he wants to go to England for the next tour.
So as for Head, it turns out that Marsh, Inglis and Maddinson have been called in and there is a good chance more of the team will have the virus in coming days, so who would you guys be picking?
I think it will be Marsh.

Two games isn’t enough to use that stat especially considering they probably weren’t when he is good.Swepson at the SCG for Queensland.
Two games-four wickets at 67

I know that but you can’t be using 2 games at a ground without any context of when they happened to say he shouldn’t be playing in a test match. Just doesn’t work like that.It is an away ground, he’s never going to have 100 games there.
He only has 12 on the ‘Gabba.
It tells you a lot- he doesn’t get picked there, it’s one of his worst grounds despite the spinning myth and it doesn’t bounce which is what Mitch wants and is his best weapon.
Out of the 18 grounds he’s played for Queensland the SCG is his second worst.
We haven’t played our best lineup since the Gabba test and we have fucked them over. I couldn’t think of a better time to blood a leg spinner than when the Series is all over and in his head he is dominating a top tier nation which theoretically they are but they aren’t playing like it. Imagine what that would do for his confidence. I do agree that he should only be playing at the expense of Lyon, none of this double spinner at the SCG shit.I can understand wanting to test him out, but England aren't exactly elite class opposition that he will benefit from bowling against, apart from Root. We should be picking the best XI to try to win every match, and Swepson isn't in that unless Lyon is injured.

What are you talking about? The only changes since the gabba are Cummins/Hazlewood which were forced changes. We haven’t played our best lineup since the Gabba test and we have fucked them over. Sorry for the lack of response, been away over x-mas/new years without internet. You need to watch the fucken game champion. Nathan bowled exceptionally well last game and once he got his 400th he bowled well in the 1st game as well. Like I’m not sure what you are expecting from a bloke who just came back from the shittest 12 months in his career. He is doing well and I can guarantee you that nobody in Australia can do better. Your that fucken clueless that your probably going start chucking up names such as tanveer or Zampa for **** sakes. Your likely the exact same bloke who was raving about Kuhnemann for doing the exact same thing earlier in the shield season. Nobody in this damn forum thinks he is amazing but at the same time **** me there isn’t a single spinner better than him in red ball cricket apart from Ravi Ashwin. The matter of the fact is your expecting something that doesn’t exist in the cricketing world at the moment for any country so to have a spinner we can consistently pick and has got us 400+ wickets over the past 103 tests is great. I say you should be pretty fucken happy we have got him cause he has gone a long way to our success for a number of years (up until last but let’s be real nobody had a great series so he definitely is not alone).
I just want to ask you this so you can reconsider your stance, Ajaz Patel got 10 wickets 3 weeks ago or whatever. Based off your logic he only got 6 legitimate wickets. Is that your stance on that as well? I will ask you again did you or did you not idolise and hype Starc for the last 7 years as a result of him practically taking tail Enders (and swinging the ball in his 1st spell)? Because chances are like the rest of Australia YOU DID. What your essentially trying to say is he is not a valued member of this team cause he took 3 wickets against bowlers but when he takes them against batters it doesn’t count cause there also shit. Like **** me if that’s the case only one wicket counts every game against this lot. Based off your logic yet again you would be saying that any batsman that scored runs against Joe Root don’t count cause he is a part timer. 100 runs don’t count to batsman’s name with your logic, what are they sundries? What next bowlers wickets will be sundrie wickets if it doesn’t count.
I get it your frustrated that he isn’t the same player but that doesn’t make him shit or any worse than any one else available in the country cause he isn’t. I love Mitch and he is the only one even relatively close but at the same time he is miles off Lyon and consistently playing test cricket. I don’t even necessarily disagree that much with you on some of things your saying. To be fair I do have an issue with what your saying as well to an extent but I think what everyone has an issue is with your one eyed view on his performances in a very ignorant manner to take away from his current successes and past successes. Like you were complaining about a 2.54 economy rate when Cummins the golden boys was 2.40 and Starc and Boland were in the high 3’s. You talk about taking bowlers wickets as being illegitimate yet Starc’s career was made up of bowlers wickets and not just that he was idolised for it. I’ve got no issue with you having the opinion that Lyon is bad but start using stats that wouldn’t suggest everyone’s careers or performances aren’t as good as they were cause they took bowlers wickets or there economy in 14 overs when one of them you got whacked was at a highly respectable economy rate of 2.54 which did nothing for your argument.
Sorry about my rant, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and enjoy day 2 of the cricket.
