Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

They could just do another penalty type, a 'short arm' penalty for lack of better word, that you can only tap and not take a penalty goal. No quick taps, line set at 10m, and can now be challenged. Full penalties would remain the same and penalty goal can be taken.

Repeat 'short arm' penalties will get you a warning/sin bin etc.

But by it needing to be blown as a penalty, it shouldn't be as much of a free for all that set restarts are with people most the time having no fkn clue what shit was even given for and take away some of the 'grey area'...

This wouldn't keep the game in fast forward though, so it would go against what they are trying to do.

Can already see the problem with the above would be teams doing it on purpose to set their line, but I'd argue they already do this on tackles 1 and 2 and give away the blatant set restart anyways.

I dunno, a quick tap is pretty much a set restart. Lots of line breaks come from quick taps.

Should have specified I guess but wasnt talking about it being quick. Line set at 10m, tap, type stuff.

The break would allow them to be challenged also if a team wishes to challenge it.

Yeah the way you worded it it would have just been a six again but even faster because they wouldn’t even have to play the ball. Get you now.

I do like the idea that we should have 2 options for foul play. Option one being Penalty, and Option 2, Not a Penalty. I think that covers every senario we could possibly come up with will fit into one of either of those categories.

Obviously sin bins and send off still a thing where necessary.

This whole thing doesnt need to be this hard.

It was pretty much this last year (the 40 metre line instead of the 50), and I have absolutely no idea why they changed it to the 20. Maybe , when they originally changed it to the 40, they did so because they thought a penalty would be more beneficial to get them out of their own end, but then realised that it just ended up with the attacking team up the other end and stuffing around with a couple of settlers before pulling the pin to put on a play. A 6-again, even deep in the opposition half, generally still ends up with the attacking team getting in to an attacking position, but with the added benefit of momentum as the 6-again has put the defence on the back foot. And the optics & excitement of a team pushing up the whole length of the field in one* (*albeit extended) set.

It's easier to manipulate results with set restarts than penalties

Why was the thread title changed? Was it because you need an actual legitimate source to say things like that? Defamation maybe? Also that’s not how Ashley is spelled.

Corrupt, corrupt corrupt. There is literally no other word for it.

Has the on-field ref ever overruled the bunker like that? Incredible. Not to even mention the on-field garbage, that non-send-off quite literally ruined the game.

But hey, while we're here, how about their first try? Not-so-subtly manufactured to halt the Qld advance.

LATE late 6-agains to overrule NSW knock-ons. Passing off the ground only pulled back one way (favouring NSW, surprise!)

They are not even trying to hide it. Origin are the games that put NRL on the map, and they've ****ed that now too.

Well done, ****wits. Killing the game, week by week.

We found a good balance last season and it resulted in one of the best seasons in years.

I really don't see why we needed to change it. The officiating this year has been horrendous.
