Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

i reckon we'll hold taylor for another year. this may be controversial~ but hunt at the moment, for me, does not have a long term mortgage on the 7.

Can't describe how much I disagree with this.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Or we keep all three and have them gell together, but rotate week in week out depending on opposition :P

I dunno. . I think Taylor has to bide his time if he wants to play for bris.

But in bennett i trust. I know he will figure out the best way to fit them all in.

He won't be a hypocrite and let taylor go after bagging former coaches letting go other players like Granville and Norman.

He's refused to release him and is clearly paying him attention with development so i don't see him slipping through easy. It's why we released hunts understudy to Souths. . Taylor is second in line now

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

unfortunately (and i'm certainly not hoping for this) I think it will take one of our halves going down injured for Taylor to get his shot.

and If that happens, hopefully Taylor can play the way some of us know he can and force Bennett to fit all of Milford, Hunt, Boyd and Taylor into the 17, making us much stronger in the long term

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Nahh
.....Taylor as the organising half (so every one keeps saying)
....Milford as a free running 5/8
...Hunt as a creative spark at hooker

McCullough's currently halfway through another season of mediocrity. It's time to face facts, he's not keeping up. He'll never keep up.

Should be fucked off after this year. He's turning into another version of Peter Wallace. Can tackle, can't do **** all else.

Lets not waste all those years before finally realising he's shit like what happend with Wallace.

Regardless of what you think of Macca, I haven't seen anything of Milford to say he's a free running half, he's been stuck on one side of the field for the majority of his games this season and been pretty average. Hunt on the other hand has shown his worth playing the short side and as a second receiver, if anyone was to be playing 5/8 it's him.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

It is a shame Wayne had his love affair with Boyd. Taylor in the halves with Hunt could have been spectacular. Milford in his preferred position of fullback with plenty of space would have been unreal. Oh well.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

I think we have to accomodate Taylor. He is a hell of a talent. I think Hunt could easily play hooker and have a huge impact there. He would be a much more creative option than Macca, who I actually like but I think his game has gone as far as it will tbh.

maybe he might go to the titans and you'll be v happy?

No mate I won't be happy because Taylor will be behind Elgey and DCE. He is better off going to a club who needs a halfback. Plenty of them around. I can see why the Broncos would want to keep him though. you never know what might happen injury wise to Hunt and Milford. That said you still have both the Nikorima boys.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

can't keep them all mate, someone is going to have to make way unless some creative man/financial management occurs

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

It would such great news to have Taylor (if he proves himself in 1st grade which is a whole other ball game - getting sufficient 1st grade games to prove what he can or can't do, which again means either someone gets injured or loses form or Bennett just decides to give him a go) and Milford and Hunt.

But the question still remains - who plays where?

Both main options are unpalatable for much of this Forum: Milford to FB, or Hunt to hooker.

For me, I just want to see Taylor get a enough games in 1st grade to show his wares - in the halves.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Can I just say I really like the position the Broncos are in with their halves?

Milford/Hunt are coming up with big plays to win the Broncos matches while Nikorima and Taylor are making good progress.

It's a great position to be in.

That's right. I think people are still in that "survival" mode, where our halves are shit and we need to cling on to anything with talent. Of all the positions required, the halves are probably our best assets, at least in terms of class now and for the future. Barring long-term injuries of course.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

All this macca talk is useless. He just resigned and bennett isn't just going to remove him.

Taylor has to go. Great talent but unfortunately wrong timing for him. Go to manly. Become a regular 1st grader.

McCullough resigned? But he's so young.. why would he just quit like that?..
