Remember the Golden Rule: They who have the gold make the rules.

Just thought I'd throw that in for no good reason...

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

While I wouldn't mind to see Taylor get a shot off the bench and get a taste in the utlity role, I definitely feel as if Parcell has been the forgotten man.

If there's one guy who gives me confidence that he could do a better job than McCullough, it's Parcell.

Forgotten or not known? If you're talking about fans.

His form is unbelievable; better than last year when he won a contract. Bennett is at every home game watching him and going again Saturday.

8 tries from 10 games
412 tackles with 14 misses at 97% from 10 games.
5 line breaks

Thanks for the updates 1910... That really is interesting.

I love the fact bennett is clearly in 100% control of the club, over seeing everyone and keeping a finger on the pulse.

Like the all song all powerful Wizard of oz.

Think about how much he's turned the club around in just 9months

Great stats. Wrong comp. Hardly ever converts to NRL.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

How many times have or will people moan about the fact we've lost Granville and to an extent Baptiste? Heck, even Benny was joining in the other week.

Parcell is about as close as you can possibly get to either players. I'm not advocating for Bennett to get rid of McCullough right away but I'd like to think that Matt would be the next in line if McCullough was unavailable for whatever reason.

I count 33 in the team lists this week and 13 in the Queensland Origin team.

13/18 and 33/136- that's not a bad return.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Might as well never play a guy who hasn't played NRL before then. They are probably no good so let's not bother.

Not what I'm saying. What I fucking hate about this place is the massive jizz fest over untried fucking players. Given BHQ is going mental over him, I can almost guarantee he's going to be fucking useless.

Still don't get the whole change our entire lineup just to get him in the squad.

But anyway. I'm completely over this thread.

The issue with Taylor is simple. We won't know anything about him until (or if) he gets a go in 1st grade.

Until then, what we do know of him as a decent prospect is worth a discussion

Nashy's comment was in response to stats about Parcell though. So I'm not really sure if Taylor was even relevant to those comments. Or at least shouldn't have been.

I think Nashy was quite clearly referring to Taylor.

BTW, hasn't Parcell had a run in NRL?

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Nashy directly quotes a post with Parcell's stats and the argument continues from here. So to me it was clearly about Parcell.

And no, he hasn't. He played some trials this year but that's about it.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

The stats comment was about Parcell, the rest is about Taylor.

Nashy's formula is really quite simple:

Is this rookie player highly rated on BHQ? If he is, he will be a hack. If not, no one is talking about him anyway.
Ergo, any player talked about in BHQ is a hack!

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

Nahh
.....Taylor as the organising half (so every one keeps saying)
....Milford as a free running 5/8
...Hunt as a creative spark at hooker

McCullough's currently halfway through another season of mediocrity. It's time to face facts, he's not keeping up. He'll never keep up.

Should be fucked off after this year. He's turning into another version of Peter Wallace. Can tackle, can't do **** all else.

Lets not waste all those years before finally realising he's shit like what happend with Wallace.

I reckon that's a little bit harsh but I do agree that Macca is average at best. I can only see it happening through injury but out of curiosity I'd like to see how one of the Nikorima brothers goes in an extended run at hooker.

And I'm another one for the 'No Hunt at Hooker' camp. He's no good there.

For some of us ... well at least me, it's not changing the lineup for the sake of changing the lineup ...

It's changing the lineup to bring in something this side just doesn't have, but will need if we are to seriously challenge for the premiership.

It's about changing the lineup to make this team far stronger, but putting players in the positions that suit the team the best, obviously IMO.

Is it a risk ... yes absolutely, but IMO the rewards far outweigh the risk.

It is always a risk to blood rookies, and yes, they may not live up to the hype or expectation; They may not handle NRL level ...

OR they may thrive and take their game and our team to a greater level.

Re: Should Ashley Taylor Be Promoted

They're Broncos' players!

It's ridiculous to get upset about people talking about Broncos' players and how they're going. They're not a random 15 year old playing local football and making stupid Cam Smith comparisons.
