Auckland 9s Broncos v Bulldogs

Does anyone else think that Granville bombed a certain try by not passing it to his forwards from dummy half and trying to score himself? I can't remember which minute it was, but I thought if he passed it to the forwards charging at the line, that they would've scored for sure.

I can't believe people are using these games to pick an NRL side.

Keep in mind most of us here aren't experts and this is the only chance we will get to see the guys play until round one.

wow, if this thread is any clue as to what BHQ will be like during games this season... Might have to stay away from the game threads.

You'd use 20/20 then to pick a Test side?

It's game against 45 year olds. It's a bit of fun.

Two old guys make a come back and suddenly it's all against 45yr olds? Nothing wrong with using this format to see where players are at. Could see the combinations there that will grow during the season and it was good to watch.

Then the point of us putting in so many of first graders is what then? Oh everyone is 45, gee how silly of me.

I'm just expressing surprise. I thought people would treat it like a celebrity testimonial or the old sevens- not an Origin decider making calls on players.

You'd learn more at the Queensland Cup trials tonight.

If thats the case why didn't we follow the likes of melb, dogs etc and put in the majority of our nuff nuffs? If its going to be nothing but fun for them why waste getting a run in a real trial?

Clearly the Broncos are taking the competition more seriously than others.

But it's not really a barometer of how the team will perform, it's just a fun exhibition confined inside it's own weekend.

I think we'll see more teams take it seriously next year, provided they keep it. Though I don't see why they wouldn't keep it, it actually worked out pretty well and is a lot, a LOT better than the NRL All Stars game.

i just dont get why gillett was playing on the wing. in a game of space you want quick men out there.
