Off to a flying start.

The President's XI are 2/159 at lunch going along at 5.48 an over. Shithaus and the old fart are the only wicket takers, with McGain going at 7.2 an over. You'd expect the Saffa A team to just go the tonk though in a 3-day game and knock the Aussies around before the 1st Test.

The team is stacked with bowlers with all the quicks and allrounders playing. Basically a bowl off which isn't going too well at the moment.

Thank god Marcus North is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Line-ups for the 1st Test according to Cricinfo.

1. Smith
2. McKenzie
3. Amla
4. Kallis
5. de Villiers
6. Duminy

10. Steyn
11. Ntini

Aussies:

1. Hughes
2. Katich

Surprisingly, can't fault the selectors with that team.

Totally the days of spinners being picked every test for the Aussies are over IMO. Mcgain might do well but on a pacemans track I am happy to see him left out. Hopefully North is good enough for test level and can pick up some cheap wickets as well as easy runs.

The selectors leave out Bollinger and play Macdonald in his place.. They are deadset maggots Macdonald is garbage Bollinger deserves his spot IMO.

Hughes gone for a quacka. Bottom edge to the keeper trying to flick a bouncer over the slips.

I had a feeling Hughes was going to get a duck. Hopefully he fights back in the rest of the series.. I really can't stand Steyn dirty mongerel.

Out playing an attacking shot in the first over - not the best of moves, but at least he didn't look hesitant or nervous in his short time at the crease. A cm either way and that ball could well have flown to the fence and he'd be on his way. He should be right, not much to worry about.

Pitch looks pretty good for that ground, but I reckon 300 may be an decent score still for the 1st innings. We'll see.

Ok, I take that back.. they picked McDonald at eight ffs!!

So we've got 3 specialist bowlers, 1 allrounder and 1 part timer. Yep that's going to take 20 wickets..

Katich for leg spin and pup if his back holds up for whatever he throws down. But 20 wickets may struggle seeing as though they dont have a long tail

Great innings there from Ronald.

the selection of ronald is farce.. Johnson bats better than he does.. North is going well hopfully he can get a ton.

Congrats to North, century on debut...woot woot.

What a great century!!! And great support innings from Johnson!!! We'll have no troubles with the bat this tour, just need to get those wickets and that $50 is mine!!

Haha how good was that over. Harris to Johnson

4 4 6 . 6 6
