Aussies Vs. Kiwis - Match Thread

Woohooooo I enjoyed that! Massively high quality game IMO. Breakneck pace, smashing hits, amazing skills particularly in that rain in the 1st half. And a close score to the end. A true Test match. They will all know they were in a contest when they wake up tomorrow.

Most of the Aussie forwards were good, but slamming Sam was massive - best game I've ever seen him play maybe. Loved that no look pass for the 2nd try! B Morris knows his way to the try line, for once I was glad he was in the team I was watching. Hope he isn't able to score too many for NSW. Lockyer looks so much better with some quality around him, pinpoint kicking and organised the side well, shows how good he really can play and didn't see him miss too many tackles either. Cronk looked at home at the highest level. Bad luck Smithy although it will be handy if he can't play on Sunday. Inglis was enormous, almost running through their whole side a couple of times. No bad players for the Aussies really, though Hayne was a bit quiet. Kiwis showed guts, tried hard, just not quite good enough hahaha! [icon_razz1

That ref didn't have much of a clue most of the time, good that it didn't affect the result though.

Just great to see such a good game for once, sure beats watching the Broncos this year [icon_shru

Tonight game was proof that the Problem in the Broncos team ISN'T lockyer and rather it's the rest of the idiot he plays with.

Except for slammin' Sam Thaiday!

Weyman and Perry added nothing coming off the bench. Ref had no idea how many times did he change his mind as well as his no knock on rule

Here's hoping they're both in the NSW side. Far too soft for Origin football, those two.

Perry got dominated in EVERY tackle and Weyman was a liability in defence. Inglis was EPIC just wait til the 27th

If Inglis shows half that form against Brisbane he will get about 5 tries.
Hopefully he does not back up.

Loved that sequence of play where Inglis rammed through one tackle, then went about palming off about 300 more players. Brilliant.

Don't be too hard on the NSW players. I thought Luke Lewis was good, as was Morris (for a winger), and Gidley played a crucial role. However, Gallen, Watmough, Hayne, and Weyman were a yard off the pace.

Sammy was The best. Inglis was good but still lacked involvement. Some great runs but not too much else I was hoping he'd be more involved. I thought Slater was unbreakable at the back, he's by far the best fullback in the game, Hayne has nothing on him.

Civoniceva was a machine.

I'll go one further and say he's the best in the game at the moment. I thought he didn't deserve that tag when it was being thrown around... but I thoroughly think he deserves it.

I've always thought he was a bit of a cheesy player - but props to him because he has taken his game to another level. He obviously worked very hard on the areas he was weak at and he's really developed into a top shelf fullback.

No doubt he has that very strange brain explosion at the weirdest of times... but that is Billy the kid.

No doubt GI is a freak but overall Slater is surely the premier player in the league and probably has been for about the past 2 seasons.

Credit where credit is due.

BTW boring test match IMO.

Weather did not help but it was a bit of a snooze attack IMO.

Agreed with Lewis and Morris, but can't agree with Gidley. He had no idea what he was doing at hooker. He is not a good utility...

What game were you watching? The attack was brilliant for the weather and both defensive lines were stretched to the limit at times, but obviously both sides were well drilled in defence as well and so the defence usually held out. This makes for a great game IMO more than a blazing try-fest.

Lockyer really is awesome, it just shows what the man con do witha little help and a game plan. Sammy T is playing himself into the next Broncos captaincy IMO.

I wouldn't be worried about Hayne. He simply isn't a winger anymore IMO, the only position for him is fullback. Many here think he is overrated but as a Queenslander I am still very worried about the prospect of Hayne playing fullback for NSW.

Rocky - Lockyer made 20 tackles, missed none. What a champion he is!!!!

Wrong. 20 tackles, NO missed tackles. (http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match3393.html)

He is 1 of 5 players in the team that didn't miss or have any ineffective tackles.

Isn't that what Jeb said?
