Aussies Vs. Kiwis - Match Thread

Note to Benji Marshall and Isaac Luke:

Nobody thinks you are scary or intimidating whilst doing the haka.

*On a side note, is Steve Matai made of glass or fine porcelain, because he always seems to be broken.

I think I only saw about 20 minutes of the whole match. From what I saw Civo and Thaiday played really well though. Was glad to see Thaiday get MOTM

Geeze Steve Matai is a dirty **** isn't he

Didn't think it was that bad of a hit, wasn't high, on the chest and bill was up and about after he got the penalty, I thought report was a bit much personally - but then I'm always wearing my anti-purple tinted glasses

Hows about Lockyer - sensational, Sambo and Civis -tops

I also thought Luke Lewis was a bit of liability in defence, IIRC one their tries involved him failing - and its not just that he's a blue, but on that point, why is Gallen even in this side? He's such a weak link penalty sinkhole - seriously, there are a million better locks them him, you feel for Cronulla, I thought he really stood out last night as out of place among a heap of quality players

Matai's hit wasnt high but gee it was late

Wasn't even a good hit. Matai always comes in with a late hit and people say "whoa Matai". He got Slater when he wasn't bracing himself and his momentum was still going. Cooper Cronk could have done that on Civoniceva FFS if he wasn't bracing himself.

LOLZ at Matai always limping. Never seen a player limp so much in my whole entire life. EVERY game without fail.

Totally, he's dead set a fool - we're always betting when he will first show signs of an injury, seriously, the boy wouldn't be able to make it to the fridge without putting his career in jeopardy

Matai got injured twice. I was hoping for three times because I'm sure that would been a record.

Really?
Gallen made a massive 45 tackles to top the count, 4th in metres made at 114m, equal 4th in hitups.
I'm not saying he was awesome but he was far from bad and IMO he's not a weak link sure he conceded 2 penalties but when you make 45 tackles there's a much higher chance of getting penalised than someone who makes 15-25 tackles.

BTW boring test match IMO.

Weather did not help but it was a bit of a snooze attack IMO.

What game were you watching? The attack was brilliant for the weather and both defensive lines were stretched to the limit at times, but obviously both sides were well drilled in defence as well and so the defence usually held out. This makes for a great game IMO more than a blazing try-fest.

I meant Snooze-fest not Snooze-attack - typo.

However, I did find the weather dulled the game... I reckon both sides could produce some quality ball movement in dry weather.

I agree the attack was exceptional for the weather.

You're right about try-fests ... they become more of an exhibition but I like watching the Aussies play really expansive and strut their stuff... conversely I reckon the Kiwis can do that too, esp if Benji is having a blinder.

+1. Slater was at a jog by the time Matai hit him. I think the literal translation from Maori to English for Matai is 'Made of glass.'

Matai and Hodges must be made of the same stuff!! It was good to see Slater smashed, was very very late though.

i want whatever the guy who counts missed/ineffective tackles is having, as he is clearly in a world of his own lol. either that or hes got a very different definition of missed/ineffective than most people do.

i saw lockyer fall of a number off tackles, but apparently that didnt happen.

ffs AP get off your bandwagon for one game! Maybe you should watch the replay

AP has a written code of conduct in which he shall never admit he is/was wrong!!

why would i watch the game again? did ball carriers bouncing off/getting away from lockyer the first play through not count?

Hahahaha, typical AP. Of course the FACTS about the game are incorrect because they don't suit his argument.

If this turns into yet another AP vs The World thread then it will be locked.
