CRICKET Australia v India Summer

India just had an innings of 45 at home .
How did that prepare them for playing in Perth ?
Please explain that one to me oh wise one ...
But please type slowly you know my comprehension aint so good .

I did - its in the very post you quoted, please stop upper cutting yourself regularly.

Given Australia is desperate for an opener, are they desperate enough to go for a total smoky in Hunt?

He was in the frame a few years back and then fell off a cliff. He has started this season pretty well though and is probably the most in form opener. All you need him for is a couple of tests against India right and then do a full reset from there.

Richardson bowls two quality overs...and off again.

Why is Critchell debuting for WA when you have Mahli Beardman sitting there on the bench?

This is the thing. India always seem to move on at the right time. Pujara, Dhawan and Rahane for instance from that dominant team. Maybe their young guys are a whole lot better but we never give any younger guys a go. Warner had to retire for him to not be in the team. This team has not exactly been killing it for years. The West Indies loss should have been a beacon for change. That team wouldn't have beat some club cricket teams.

Maybe if they moved earlier they would be in a better position. You are meant to play young guys against worse teams so they get their confidence. Feel sorry for McSweeney. Straight in the deep end.

India always seems to have a never ending supply chain of generational talents, they’ve just for a long time been more about individuals. Rohit vs Kohli is a debate that quite often results in a heated discussion across social media among the Indian fans. Whenever they can unite as a group, players and fans, they’ll be the best team across all formats.

Population Australia - 26 million .
Population India - 1.4 Billion .

Percentage of cricket players / followers .

Australia 10 %
India 90 %

Not a fair fight anymore .

I was hoping the Broncs would get him but hey the oz cricket team needs some help so why not.🙃

Mitch Marsh shouldn’t be in this team if he can’t bowl. He’s not good enough with the bat to hold his spot. Much rather see Aaron Hardie at 6 and get more over to support the attack better.

Marsh is injured and can't bowl. I thought he bowled well in the first innings.

He did but if he can't bowl 10-15 overs an innings then he has no place in the side.

Cameron Green cant either. Its becoming a rare sight in cricket to get a medium pacer all rounder to bowl so many overs.

Right !
So any bowler that gets an injury during a test is dropped never to play again ?
Sounds like a solid plan .

Our opening batters last night was the real embarrassing part of our current test.

The bloke is regularly injured, it isn't a new thing for Marsh. Like everyone else in the top 6, he has 1 hundred since the WTC final. Every single one of them should be under pressure.

And who says he can't ever play again? He's an all-rounder, he's picked to be an all-rounder. He isn't good enough to be a specialist batsman, especially when you've got Webster who has been bashing the door down in FC and Hardie who is much younger and with a better FC record.

Green is good enough to be selected as a batsmen IMO. Marsh isn't so he needs to contribute ore with the ball. He is always too fat and his body breaks down.

He has barely bowled over the last 24 months because he is never fit enough to do so.
