Could be a good opportunity to ease someone else in. Of course who that someone is, who knows. I suspect the selectors are really just trying to squeeze one more year out of him in the hope someone else emerges as an opener that isn't Bancroft or Harris. At this point, the only real opening option is either McSweeney again, Smith or Renshaw. So I can see why the selectors are persisting as long as they can with Khawaja but he looks really past it right now.

Then of course if Webster nails his opportunity this test, that opens up an entirely different can of worms, a good one though.

Not sure I'm a fan of what Konstas is doing with the mouth.
Stick to batting, I'm 100% certain Uzi doesn't need the distraction of settling things down in that situation.

It's his MO, he hasn't played against Queensland yet but few Bulls boys have played with and against him and say he loves the chirp and banter.

It's great to be young and brash but you need to pick fights that help your team too- sledging the Laras or Tendulkars or Bumrahs of the world just puts pressure on everyone.

Khawaja has been so poor with his ability combat Bumrah this series. He’s just keep getting out the same way. Needed better from our experienced opener. He’s cooked both young openers he’s batted with by not showing any intent to score

It's great to be young and brash but you need to pick fights that help your team too- sledging the Laras or Tendulkars or Bumrahs of the world just puts pressure on everyone.

Doing nothing against Bumrah isn’t working though. Konstas, rightly or wrongly, is rattling not just Bumrah, but the entire Indian squad.

His movement and balanced is so scrambled, he should have pressed forward to that ball this afternoon and instead he sort of plays back and nicks off.

We are going to know the impact of that niggle soon. If India galvanise and pull together because they feel their captain and leader has been aggrieved and win the Test then Sam is going to have to wear that blame.

Waugh used to always say don't sledge Lara, nothing not a word it will just make him angry and he will score 200 to spite us.

If they get Konstas early tomorrow- India will explode at him.

Agreed. Bumrah just does not bowl as well to him as he does the others. Yes he is good enough to get him any ball but I see him spray them like I've never seen against anyone else.

Didn't he clean him up in the 2nd innings cheaply? Konstas got lucky for a few balls in the first innings and it probably won us the match I guess but I don't think it's affecting bumrah much. There other bowlers it affected like siraj because he is a loose cannon that can't control himself and I don't think he is that good. I'm worried bumrah is absolutely going to tear them a new one in the morning. It is seaming everywhere. 180 might have been a good total. Shaping up a bit like the first test.

And he really hasn’t done anything to rile them up. Certainly nothing to them directly. He was pumping up the crowd a bit and that’s about it.

Did he play the poor me card? I haven’t seen any post-game interviews. He did just put his bat under his arm and walk off which seemed fine to me. I didn’t see anything after though, did something happen?
