CRICKET Australia v India Summer

Eeer did Bumrah have a warm up game ?
Don`t remember Kohli playing any warm ups either . Jaiswal ?

They came out here after getting pantsed by the Kiwis .

This not prepared meme ? You reckon the skipper who is 30 + years of age didn`t know how to prepare for a game / series ?
Bit like people saying they needed fielding practice during the world cup .

Interesting stat from the last test . No players in the team in their 20s . That`s a truck load of experience .

Conditions favoured India during the Indian 2 innings in Perth. They took advantage .
Shit happens . Doesn`t mean the team was arrogant , too comfortable or under prepared . That was the opinion of a guy paid to stir shit .
Like I said yesterday where is Micheal Vaugh and his sage knowledge now ?

Doesn't that sort of answer your own question? India finished three Tests against New Zealand on the 3/11 and played the first Test here on the 22/11.

Australia played ODI and 20/20 from the 4/11 to the 18/11. Cummins said I am not picking up a ball for 8 weeks and I am going to Cold Play. I think the questions coming into the series were valid.

Vaughn was 100% right to ask the question.

“I think the debate over the next week or two going into the second and third Test matches will be: Are Australia short of a gallop and they needed this game to get back into Test match cricket mode? Or are they a team that’s just starting to get over the edge?” Vaughan added.

He also questioned India's prep for the series.

“I can’t get my head around a team like India only wanting to play an intra-squad game leading into a series against Australia in their own backyard,” Vaughan told Fox Cricket.

“I just can’t see how you get yourself in that competitive mindset of consequence by playing an intra-squad game. Time will tell.

“I’m surprised that this Indian side didn’t want at least one game of cricket, and the WACA’s the perfect venue because it’s a similar pitch to Optus (Stadium), so you get used to the bounce.”

India turned down a game against a State side and were happy with their prep- which would have been looking pretty right after Perth. The two tours before they played Cricket Australia 11 and Australia A.

Both preparations were not traditional, and questions were valid.

Conditions , not preparations made the difference .
Pitch was at it`s best during Indian second innings in Perth .

Difference here is we hadn't played a test match since the Windies game in January 24, India however had played a competitive 3 game test series the month before. Quite a few players in the aussie team setup hadn't played red ball cricket since that January test. Thats the point I was making.

Credit to the coach, he got the results hard to argue with that.

This Indian side though was nowhere near the form of the last touring side. Kohli and Sharma are shadows of their former selves. Sundar wasn’t the player he was last tour and definitely neither were Siraj or especially Jadeja. Pant also underwhelmed.

Both sides are nearing the end for a number of their greats, India probably hits reset now and Australia will in 12 months. I wasn’t a fan of the prep for the series and had massive concerns after Perth too, as anyone in their right mind should have.

But I think the biggest difference is coach. McDonald has achieved some impressive results now, credit to him.

India on the other hand under Gambhir look horrid. He has to have massive question marks on his future. They are massively underperforming except Bumrah and Jaiswal and he seems a divisive character. That looks a very unhappy team.

There were cracks in the Indian team before they left home .
Ashwin told the selectors he didn`t want to come unless he was guaranteed a spot in the 11 . Kohli`s average has been sub par for several years .
Two greats on the way out . Then add Rohit`s form .

Webster looked good in this game .
Though oposition analysts will be interested in his bat swing .
I think the way he slices across the ball in defence will be found out in the future . Many times I flinched when he came from outside in with the bat . I thought he would get caught in the cordon . But he didn`t , so good on him .

Our reset I feel is going to be harder felt than India's. I feel we could confidently plug the bowling gaps with the talent we have coming through the ranks but the batting is where we are going to be severely tested.

Starc too to be honest. Cummins is a funny one because he missed 6 years basically due to injury and then became indestructible for the next 6.

They were waiting for his body to mature .
The word was bones are not fully developed until like 24 / 25 .

Also there was a flaw in his action which caused more twisting of his back / hips that had to be corrected to stop more injuries .

Pakistani and Indian fast bowlers are famous for bowling fast with bad actions which eventually lead to injuries require surgery . But they come back with the same action and do it again .
Waqar and Bumrah as examples .

11 dropped catches sorry.

I have often thought a group of Pakistani bowlers with Australian fieldsmen would be elite .
The Pakistanis drop so many catches , but their bowlers just keep on creating chances . And are still competitive much of the time .
Pakistan with better running between wickets and better catching , near unbeatable IMO .

Getting flogged in games in India are a good warm up for Perth ??

Veelart doesn`t play provincial games full stop .
And WTF was he up to with the turning out his pockets and undoing the drawstring of his pants and looking at his groin ?
That was worth a fine if not a suspension for bringing the game into disrepute .
The crowd were not wrong with their chant .

I was more going the playing Test matches is good prep for Test matches despite the result.

I think he was pretending to be Bancroft- thought that was pretty obvious sledge to the Australian crowd.

Just watching some Boland highlights. That ball to get Jaiswal in the last test was Harris-like. Absolutely unplayable.
