I've seen the commentary being that Pakistan got the most out of the game, how exactly? They won the toss, that's the only reason they got the most out of the game. We batted just as well as they did, they were never in a position to win that game, not ever.

It's a easy 4 points on the ICC Test Championship ladder for us, one away from home too. I hope they serve up another pitch like that, losing 1-0 away from home wouldn't be that bad at all, I had genuine fears they'd wipe us 3-0 given that we simply cannot operate in those conditions. When the pitch is that flat though, it's a draw every time

I'm not saying tis is wrong because it was concerning to see the batsmen throwing their wickets away to nothing balls BUT they did bat after two days in the field to be fair. Pakistan were pretty fresh for both innings.

I'm not saying there aren't reasons behind it, but they batted better. And these guys are meant to be the fittest of the fit. The top 4 barely bowled, and shouldn't be too exhausted to bat for long periods, and really they all got out to shit shots.

That's the exact side I was thinking of too. Hazlewood is better than Boland in general but he looked rusty.

Not sure if you've ever played cricket yourself but there is nothing worse than fielding when you don't even look like getting a wicket, to do it for 2 days then be expected to bat as if you just turned up for the first day, it's not as easy as you think.

It's not about fitness or any of that, physically they would've been fine but it's the mental aspect, you do a lot of thinking when you're out there watching the batsmen not even look like getting out, especially if you're a top order player and you know when it's your turn you need to do just as well.

I don't think it's just us and we did handle it, we go within 50-60 of their total, which is a total that took them 2 days to get.

How many times do you see a team bowl 5-6 sessions then get rolled within 3 sessions?

I think we did well, I didn't expect us to get near their total.

We batted for almost 2 days, then both openers came out and scored unbeaten hundreds.

The Starc/Hazelwood decision is a strange one, and I don't even know if they've made the right call. I think they're basically going with Starc hoping it reverses, as Hwood is a better bowler.

3 years ago Starc couldn't even get picked playing in England with the duke, now he's our 2nd choice quick.
