Badel's just dropped a long read on Darius in the CM, based around an interview.

His coach - who coincidently bears an uncanny resemblance to a dark haired Santa minus the beard - will announce the 2020 captaincy in time for Xmas.

Doesn't look like this is happening. Something I've been noticing with Badel: his gossip often pans out, but his timing's always off. Could it be a pending retirement or transfer? Or maybe he's using it as motivation.

Maybe the club just does it to **** with him. "Will announce it Thursday'' club waits 4 days an announces it Monday and makes him look like he doesn't know.

Bit of a fuckwit move, if that's the case, but I don't think it would be in anyone's best interests, particularly with the corporate relationship between the two entities. The Broncos have nothing to gain by antagonizing the Courier Mail. It would only backfire on them in the long run.

Yep, saw that and figured it wasn't worth posting as news. We have at least three other sources at the actual club who've said Milford will start at 6, Isaako at 1 and Boyd is training in the the 3/4's but will probably end up on the wing. We've also been told the Round 1 team won't be decided until after the trials. Which is how trials work.

Sorry mate, I have to respectfully disagree. If more of us had boyd's powers (i.e. i would label it more as a lack of insight), there would be greater acceptance mediocrity in the world (more so than there currently is), and the world would go to shit much faster than its current trajectory.

Personally, i dont blame him taking the cash, as you have stated, most would. He may be trying his best but falling (often literally) short, in which case, the coach needs to do what a coach is meant to do and send him back to Q Cup to play with those of equal skill.

It is the coach that selects the team. If Boyd is in it, it is because siebold wants him there. I'm tired of hearing how the coach is hamstrung by board etc. It would never fly with the likes of Bennet, Flanagan or Bellamy.
Ultimately Boyd is in the same situation as every other player. He is selected at the coach's discretion, and he has it upon himself only to make as much as he can of his playing career. Along the way he has managed to win premierships, origins, play for Australia and do it whilst raising a young family.
If he isn't selected in round 1. So be it. The coach has made his call. And if he is, he will be expected to do all he can to justify the decision, but ultimately that rests with siebold. And if siebold for some reason can't make the decision, that too rests on him.
