Wow.. thats the word from my cousins [icon_drun

Does this mean HodgoBerro is coming back? [icon_ee

Berrick Barnes? You're kidding... I'll believe it when I see it but would like to see him back to potentially take over the reins in the halves.

Yes, Berrick Barnes.
He has played centres for the Wallabies on a number of times.
Probably one of the better defenders going around.

Interesting to find an article back in 2006 from Wayne

http://www.abc.net.au/cgi-bin/common/pr ... 648179.htm

But Broncos coach Wayne Bennett said he believed it was only a matter of time before Barnes returned to the Broncos.

"I think the Broncos mean a lot to him, as a kid they did and that's why he came here," he said.

"I think when he's met his targets over there and his goals, he'll probably think: 'I've done this, can I go back and play this other game now, and can I be as good at that as I am at this one.'"

Would definitely be a nice cue if we did sign him.

However why would he want to come to the Broncos a year before the World Cup?

So what makes your cousins in the know....just out of curiosity.

Don't you know?

Seriously?

Two of them play for the Broncos. One is a Junior Roo the other was the Player of the Year.

He is out of of favour with the Wallabies.
But then again he is signed another year to the Waratahs.
So I am thinking he we did sign him, it'll be from 2012 onwards.
But who knows with contract these days, he can get an early release [icon_shru

I doubt any player who is regularly in the Wallabies extended squad is going to leave before the end of next year's World Cup.

Barnes isn't a centres arsehole... He is too slow, in the halves or not at the Broncos IMO.

He plays 2nd 5 in Rugby. He has no future in the centres in league. This guy is very much IN favour at the Wallabies to the point where a year ago he was named vice captain. He is without doubt in their full strength team and there is even a current push for him to be starting over Giteau.

I would love to see him come back however I'll believe it when I see it.

and so it starts...

I doubt the Broncos squad will change significantly before next season, the word is Copley came back to training in very good shape and i would think he will get first crack.

I have heard this as well, but I have been hearing it since he left

I did get 2 sms's yesterday saying hes back blah blah, will make a good replacement for Wallace after serving his 'getting back in the groove stint" in the centers blah blah. My response was, he'll come back the year Wayne does [icon_lol1.

I actually expect Gagai to get first crack. Has spent plenty of time in the centres.

Dude, Gagai is not ready to play centres. He'll struggle in defense big time.

Copely in the middle with Gagai on his wing.
