Bellamy to quit as NSW Coach

Yeah I enjoyed beating Bellamy. Murray was a good guy so it's didn't feel as good. Still beating Gould was the best.

I want him to go for it again, so he can get owned again.

Woohoo. Dead set, some of the selections he made were poor.

Not only that, but he seemed a tad confused on what he was doing. He didn't enjoy coaching against his own players. He said it himself. That right there is a good enough reason to even sack him before he quit.

If he quits, Brett white, turner, quinn and so on, may not be so lucky making the team again.

and that would be sad for Qld if that was the case [icon_wink

Reckon NSW will go with a non-club coach, who I don't know

Gould is the obvious choice. Origin coaching is more about firing the players up imo, look at some of the coaches for Qld who probably aren't capital C coaches (Vautin, Lewis, Menigna) who enjoyed success. Gould is the man that they need. The chickensh1t won't do it though because he knows Qld are currently too strong.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Wayne Pearce have another shot.

Or John Cartwright to put his hand up.

Or Laurie Daley - how much of a joke would that be? :P

I hope NSW follow suit and bring in an ex-Origin player. Makes it more interesting imo. Wayne Pearce, hmmm, I reckon he'd go harder on his kid than anyone else.....

NSW do have the players do put up a decent fight next season, but they need a coach who's gonna rev them up too. I agree with gUt about Gould, he could really help them

1. Gidley
2. Hayne
3. Cooper
4. Monaghan/Jennings
5. Quinn
6. Barrett/Anasta/Mullen/Campese (Whoever is on form)
7. Wallace
8. O'Meley
9. Farah/Ennis
10. Kite
11. Gallen
12. Creagh
13. Mateo(Is he eligable?)/Tongue

14. Bailey/Cross
15. Laffranchi
16. Tongue/Heighington
17. Mason??

QLD's back&forwardline still looks more impressive. They have the bench and the backrow.

Can't argue with that side except O'Donnel might be in the frame if he's fit & firing.

LOL at Bellamy saying he's not going to do the job before he's even been offered it. He was given a one-shot deal for this year and as yet NSW haven't given any indication of asking him to coach again for 2009. Good move, making it look like you're stepping down instead of getting sacked.

I think it will be Laurie Daley, they will have seen the success Qld have had with a non-club coaching, SOO Legend and follow suit I think.

Civo and Price to continue in the front row? They're getting on a bit, despite the fact they're still farking awesome, but I have a feeling that at least one of them will announce rep retirement after the WC.

Still, agreed that Qld does look the better side. Doesn't mean squat though, Origins are ALWAYS 50/50. A few mistakes, a ref call, or an injury here or there can and does decide the outcome of the series most years.

Oh, in terms of coaching, I reckon Freddy definitely has a shot at it. Can't see Tommy being head coach ever again, but if NSW were fair dinkum they would get him into some sort of role just to rev the boys up. Tallis should do the same for Qld icon_thumbs_u

That and the fact that he's in a contract with channel 9 which rules out any coaching duties.

Meh. He was with Channel Nine when he was all but pulling the strings at the Roosters too...
