Ben Hunt is on a self-imposed booze ban as he looks to deliver his best season yet

Genius move, lol. The start of the season is always a bit random, Hoffman in the halves will be exposed once every team settles in and the real contenders start to emerge. Even if it is helping Hunt, it's not going to be good enough for the Broncos. If Hunt goes missing with another half, we need to fix that, not getting rid of the other half altogether.

Cannot believe Griffin wasted him for all those years as a bench hooker. Imagine how far along he would have come along if he had a few more seasons at halfback but nope, that's Griffin for ya.

I'll play devil's advocate in that I believe he's benefited from playing hooker. Having to play in the middle of the ruck meant he had to focus a lot more on his defence. I'll be damned if he's now not capable of rocking a much bigger bloke flat on his back. He's rock solid in defence.

The problem is you don't pick halves on defence. They are there 99% for attacking. And those 30 min stints in a completely different position certainly didn't help his development.

Are people complaining about his attacking prowess though? He's been killing it with his attack and we're playing with one half at the moment. Hoffman has no creativity nor do his 'kicks' ever find their mark. We're winning matches with one only general, he's got no one there to make him look better than he is. Just imagine how good he could be if he could choose his moments with a creative 5/8 outside of him taking some of the burden, because at the moment he's controlling 98% of all sets.

He's going good, but like was said, he could be further in his development right now if he wasn't playing 30 mins at hooker for 3 years.

thats interesting thinking, although i find it hard to believe that could of all been planned given that if wallace had of picked his form up he may of still been our halfback. and im sure hook didnt plan on losing norman either. although i enjoy the optimism behind the post i dont think a coach would be able to see that far to the future whilst we were missing the top 8. it is no doubt a nice coincidence though, if only milford had of came a year early the stars would of really aligned.

But we all know Milford was expected here when they released Wallace last year. They thought the deal was in the bag. What changed it was the sacking of Furner at the raiders...changed everything. That's when Stuart came in and started manipulating things. Brisbane had him. Its also why Prince was told there'd be no future at the club next year, and was they strongly suggested he retire
