How am I oblivious to what a halfback's primary task is? All I was pointing out, was that when he was doing all those things that I mentioned above, he was very much praised around here, with all his flaws being ignored. I guarantee if he starts scoring tries, taking the line on etc. he will once again be loved around here, and once again his flaws will be put in the background.

That doesn't make him any more of a halfback than he is now.

This isn't a popularity contest, although being a fan forum, it probably is at BHQ.
But the point is that even when he was in career form, his game management and kicking were still crap, and those are primary tools a halfback needs to have. People tend to ignore that when he and/or Milford are pulling rabbits out of their hats and making magnificent plays like we saw last season.
Of course, his running skills dissimulate his flaws when the Broncos are dominating a game, but every time, every single time we are on the back foot, he becomes a liability, because he doesn't have the tools necessary to turn the tide.

I am not hating on Hunt, because I think really highly of him and probably only have Milford ahead of him in terms of a running half. But we need a half capable of managing a game and with an above average kicking game. That's supposed to be his job, and unfortunately, he just isn't and will imo never be up to it.

I think Hunt, whilst a very good player, has proven that he isn't a clutch player. He went to water in the GF when we needed him (it wasn't only the dropped ball - he was poor for most of the game). Milf, on the other hand, stood up big time in the GF as a 20 year old, and has pulled out some magic when other matches hung in the balance.

Nikorima isn't the solution either... he's another above average running half, with mediocre game management skills and kicking. His brother was much better in that department.

so you want to move kodi into 7 full time? i personally think he would struggle defensively. if you want an organising controlling halfback with an a grade kicking game then kodi isnt that player either. kodi is an instinct player, so its a bad move.
as for hunt, moving him to 9 would be 3 steps backward. its known i have never been a huge fan of macca but he is still our best option.
my personal view is that hunt cops more than his fair share of criticism (easy scapegoat for some)
lets remember that we had 6 topline players out last night.and if i remember correctly we are still well entrenched in the top 4.

by the way, where are the titans on the ladder?

Actually, Granville was sensational for us. The reason the Cows wanted him was his brilliant form. Like anyone else he was better on some days than others but nevertheless he was excellent.

Cows wanted him because Green wanted him, P.G new how to use him... I'm still not sold on him, I prefered Parcell. I could of handled him taking the 9 of Macca

Ok. You notice how we always pass right and when we did last night we muffed it. Also both our 7 and 9 pass left 95% of the time and because our 9 doesnt run the ball it doesnt go right.
Now our 7 hasnt run it nearly as much putting him in 9 allows him to do that. Then moving Kodi into 7 who does run the ball and passes right balances the team as well. Maccas best stat is his tackling. Yep hes made 2. 40/20s in 12 games. Hes not balanced at all. We noticed this big time last night. When our metre making fwds are there its hidden. We know Blair isnt a metre making fwd. Last night we needed an attacking 9 when we went in with a defensive game. Su'a made 45 tackles. Thats phenomenal in a first game for an 18 yr old.
