Fine, you're entitled to your opinion on Granville. Cows/Green ...what's the difference ? I liked Parcell too but Granville was a first grader through and through. When he got a chance in Brisbane he lit the field up, it was like we went up a gear, reminiscent of Nickorima off the mark in early games this season.
 
When is smith Retiring from QLD?
I say season 2019 he will step down.
Friend (26) Macc (26)and Granville (27) all now. Season 2020 they will be all 30/31. They all will miss out. Parcell will be 27 in 2020. J Nikorima will be 24 then.
Same goes for Hunt 26 now. Cronk to finish in season 2018. So for 2019 Hunt will be 29.
Ash Taylor will be 24.
JT goes season 2017.
Season 2018 Milford goes in aged 23/24.

This isn't a popularity contest, although being a fan forum, it probably is at BHQ.
But the point is that even when he was in career form, his game management and kicking were still crap, and those are primary tools a halfback needs to have. People tend to ignore that when he and/or Milford are pulling rabbits out of their hats and making magnificent plays like we saw last season.
Of course, his running skills dissimulate his flaws when the Broncos are dominating a game, but every time, every single time we are on the back foot, he becomes a liability, because he doesn't have the tools necessary to turn the tide.

I am not hating on Hunt, because I think really highly of him and probably only have Milford ahead of him in terms of a running half. But we need a half capable of managing a game and with an above average kicking game. That's supposed to be his job, and unfortunately, he just isn't and will imo never be up to it.

Yes and I was never disagreeing with any of what you just said. I never said that's not his job as a halfback. I don't know where you got the view or perception of me thinking anything different to what you are saying. So once again I'll go back to your initial point of me being oblivious to a halfbacks primary task?

All I'm saying is that people on here have very short memories and tend to ignore certain things whenever it suits them.

As for saying Hunt will never be up to it, well, only time will tell. I personally think he will slowly improve in certain aspects over the years, as will Milford.

Through experience, they'll learn. Through learning they'll improve.

so how would you expect hunt to make metres from 9 if our forwards arent making metres and getting quick play the balls? you watch any game of footy and its all the same, 9's who make metres and run the ball do so off the back of a goor run and play the ball.
as for not going right im perplexed, hunt has a great combo with gillett on that right edge and they cause havoc more often than not.
yes we do go left a lot, that relates to our game plan. we generally like to play to the right and then come back with a punch up the middle (parker most time) if he doesnt get an off load he generally gets a good quick play the ball. then again we sweep left out the back to boyd which nearly every week results in a try to oates.. the defense struggles to adapt after parkers push through the middle and thats why our left is so effective.
why do you want your 7 running the ball all the time when you have options outside like gillett/milford/oates/boyd/roberts etc who are genuine line breakers and game winners.
passing right last night was always going to be tricky. new combos in the team and a rookie running new lines on the edge.

milford may even end up in french rugby earning 2 million bucks a year and not bother with origin??

Thou it will come down to Morgan or Milford for bench utility next year. Might want Milf into team a year before.
I think the same will be in 2018. They might want Cronks replacement into team a yr early as Utility. I will say Taylor.

The reason Cowboys wanted him was because Green knew his potential having worked with him for a few years at Wynnum. Broncos simply gave him a taste of first grade and Green did the rest.
Charlie Gubb will end up there next year as well, for the same reasons.

His defence is nowhere good enough to be a 9
Macca's defence is superb as is his passing from D-H but lacks vision.
Seems to me that Kevvie looked after Hunt & Milf last year & both had a consistent year.
This year inconsistency is the issue, that & Hunts kicking game, It has been woeful from day dot.
