Ben Te'o Assault Allegations - No Charges

Re: Oh no, bad news coming.

Maybe she attacked teo and he fended her away. If Jamal can break reads eye with a fairly innocuous fend then surely he coulda done it too. No case to answer.

Re: Oh no, bad news coming.

wow, so in a matter of a day you have all changed from "kick teo out" to "the slut deserved it, she was the menace!". to me this just reeks of a "boys club" coverup. Sure, maybe she instigated the fight, maybe she hit him with a shoe, but he could easily remove himself from the situation or restrain her without breaking her eye socket. i have no doubt something happened, and i highly doubt a woman would come forward and put herself under such scrutiny if there wasnt truth to her claim. just look at what you are all saying about her, why the **** would a girl make this up knowing the flack she will cop. teo has a history of stuff like this, its not out of the realms of possibility that he did this. fact is, she had a broken eye socket and said teo did it. yes, she dropped the charges, but who knows why, who knows how much souths paid her off? who knows what they threatened her with. maybe the social scrutiny was all too much.

it worries me to think what nrl players can get away with. i have no doubt MOD EDIT: Unsubstantiated allegation. i have no doubt teo did this. but i fear the nrl and clubs are able to sweep it under the carpet very easily

As usual with these cases we will never no the full facts. I would still like to know why souths didn't tell the nrl and why if he didn't hit her his statement didn't state just that 'I didn't hit her'

In either case there is a reason brisbane didn't resign him and it has nothing to do with his on field performances or the money he wanted.

I could not possibly agree more with this queenslander, it seems like you and I are the only ones on this forum that think this way.

I'd hit it.....with my penis, not my fist.

There are a lot of unknown facts, assumptions and conclusions drawn by all, including yourself. Don't try to take the high ground based on the same logic/forensic analysis undertaken by everyone else based on a complete lack of facts.

Just because one theory of the case involves an alleged assault on a woman shouldn't mean that a person defending another theory (like provocation or extortion) is sexist or deserving of your ivory tower treatment.

WTF I'm not giving anyone an ivory tower treatment. All I'm saying is that I know teo's history and there are far to many ???'s to say either way so due to that fact I'm not going to start calling her a slut and saying she deserved it etc. I have not once attacked anyone on here about this so what the **** is your problem

Re: Oh no, bad news coming.

IF it's a "boys club" cover up then why would the "boys" call the police?

I just hit a girl, I want to keep it under wraps, she's not going to press charges so what smarter way to get attention than to call the police! It just doesn't make sense they'd do that.

Re: Oh no, bad news coming.

My wife can bruise black and blue if she hits her thigh making the bed.

110Kg football player versus 50Kg woman.

110Kg footballer used to applying physical force in training, with muscle memory, reflexes trained to withstand or respond to another 110kg football player. Hardened and conditioned hands, torso, arms, whatever.

What his body thinks is a small amount of force is likely to be more than enough to do a lot of damage to the 50kg woman in question.

If she's running at him with a sharpened heel, then he's probably not going to be in control of the situation and more protecting himself.

That plus everyone is probably drunk slowing and altering those reflexes.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the 'boys club' is the players, the expression of the 'boys club' is used for the nrl head honchos that become involved and very forcefully explain what she is getting herself into and how contonuing with a charge will end up for her, however if this all goes anyway it could be quite positive for her. Lawyers are very persuasive.

How many times do you see the story that there seems to be plenty of evidence, next minute the charge is dropped and she disappears. IMO it happens far to often to simply be 'the slut is always making things up'. That's just my opinion though

The fact police investigated it and didn't see fit to press charges, and the girl herself hasn't made a formal complaint says to me it's total bollocks.

If your trying to restrain someone though you would usually cause injuries to arms and chest etc. I have never heard of someone trying to restrain someone's eye socket, but I do have an ivory tower opinion so I probably can't see that from up here

The problem is the media's standard of proof for football players is, you were there, you were drunk, she's a woman, you are guilty.

That's a statement that I don't think anyone else on here agrees with us, I was simply saying I think we are the minority. If I wanted to attack someone I would have said "everyone beside you and I are sexist pigs that think its cool to hit sluts cos the are sluts". I didn't say that and I wasn't implying that, the fact that you have taken it that way has more to do with you than me.

But anyway I'm not going to say anymore because I'm sure I'm about to receive another infraction for going off topic, so believe whatever you want to believe. I'm a sexist arsehole that likes to look down on everyone, whatever makes you happy sub :)
