I know. And Billy got his first shot in the halves. Dearden was a kevvie walters sacking. Call it clearing the decks if you will.
Kev didn't sack Dearden, he signed elsewhere.
Billy got first shot in the halves because Reynolds was injured, Reynolds comes back round 2 and Billy goes to the bench.
Billy has played 4 out of his 88 broncos games in the halves so unless Dearden was going to play hooker or bench utility I don't see how Billy was his competition.

He might not have been sacked but he got the hint. Sorry boy, this is a walters town now. We don't like your type around here.

Broncos i don't think were in a position to wait for him to come good we needed an experienced half not one 3 years away from peaking.eithe way it's panned out pretty well for us thus far mam is coming along nice and black is getting time in Cup for his game to mature.

He has only played #7 in two games this season .
Previously he played #6 .

Billy officially the best hooker at the club at the moment
He's good for twenty off the bench. But that's been the case for some time.

Hunt will bring vision to the 9, despite his lackluster passing. He's being under rated today.

I thought Hunt was painful to watch today. I was begging for Billy to come on.

Hopefully he gets better but geez he looked disinterested in playing Hooker. Mad Macca look like Segeyaro

I know what you mean, and felt twinges of the same, but I'm giving him a few games before I write him off. He (potentially) brings what Billy hasn't had, and probably never will.

The 14 role only has to come on, run freely and target tired forwards. Billy's been doing a fine job of that the last couple of weeks. But he's never shown anything at 9 and he runs out of steam.

Hunt's job is to orchestrate the backline direction in conjunction with Reynolds, who has been letting us down on the leadership front. His job is to see a few plays ahead. He can do that.

I'm staying positive, for now.

I wasn't too disappointed with Bhunt's service... I'm assuming most people are concerned with Bhunt throwing it out in front of Reynolds, etc. but haven't we been complaining that Reynolds and co are getting passes behind them, above them, etc. causing them to be flat footed and making the whole attack look clunky.

Bhunt was putting it out there for Reynolds to run on to and they were slightly ahead of where they needed to be, but Reynolds was getting them in stride at least and that will improve as Bhunt gets used to it.

The attack was getting across the advantage line straight away with that kind of service.

I thought Bhunt was good at getting it right on their chest for the most part as well... and passing straight off the ground.

I thought it was promising for guys that probably had maybe 1 training session together as a spine with the origin guys away and it's not like Bhunt could be getting reps in with the kind of injury he had

It wasn’t that so much as it was just quite pedestrian.

Never even crossed my mind that he would run or engage the markers. Very little energy in what he was doing in attack. 0 deception. I thought he took the wrong option quite a bit too.

Very early days and he’ll get better but he looked like Tyson Smoothey at best.

If he keeps tipping blokes over in tackles he will get sin binned and or suspended . He got lucky yesterday. But I have seen him use a similar technique before . He should know better.

Same.......

If there's any complaint....he seemed confused a lot of the time as to who wanted the ball. I'm not sure if thats on him or ARey.

If Reynolds is our game manager........he seems to go quiet/MIA too often for mine.

the other bloke in that tackle really saved his bacon ay

Yes, it might be a symptom of how little communication has been going on. Hunt clearly expects his halves to call for it, or his captain to signal to him he has a plan, not just lob it to whoever is closest. He was right to get up them.

They need a pecking order of leadership, especially who is responsible for the 5th.
