Wasn't Kodi the one tasked with taking more responsibility throughout the offseason? Both of them were talking about what they're going to do all off season and running was definitely a big part of those articles. Where was the running?

I noticed in the PNG game that when milf came on Kodi looked lost. In that sense it would seem milf is trying to manage the game and probably overplaying his hand. Perfect example was when he dropped it 40m from the drags line running towards the sideline.

Milford recently told NRL.com how he had been working overtime on his general kicking and game management skills with assistant coach Kevin Walters.

What Milf has learned is that he just can't rely on his talent and over the last two years I have seen him work hard on his craft.

Kodi Nikorima has put his hand up to lead the team around and that should help Milford do what he does best.

Milford will do some of the organising and I believe he will step up in that regard. He has got Kevvie Walters assisting him now and that is only going to be a bonus

This is the thing... the team played horribly in round 1 and some of the selections were very strange. I don't think they spent the preseason being coached to drop the ball.

I can't take anything from that game in terms of how we intend to play. Just have to wash hands of this game and start fresh next week.

Yes and no. Yes everyone should take responsibility for thier role in the side but a lot of the attack should be either done by the halves or controlled by the halves, something which would be expected to be worked on during the off season between Kodi, Milford and Walter's. The defence was shit house from the start but noticing when your forwards need a break is the halves job,even if that means kicking it out for a breather. Over all it was the teams fault and errors were the main thing that killed us, but I believe Milford and Kodi could of tried taking more responsibility and looked after the forwards abit better.

If you have the structures, well drilled moves and discipline, you have players who know what to do (and not to do).

I am really sick of this conversation. We have been having it since 2015.

I hope Walters actually does something positive regarding structures, roles and responsibilities very soon, what we had has failed and our results where it counts is the proof.

That's because the jury is still out on whether he has coached it out of him by giving him some extra responsibilities or if it's just that Milford is lazy and a dumb footballer that can't add anything new to his game. One of them we see on screen weekly and the other isn't public knowledge.

Wayne chose to offer it to him because he was touring the Storms facilities and holding it over the club. We need someone like Milford at the Broncos, don't get me wrong. He just needs to do something, anything! I honestly doubt that Bennett has told him to not run at all. He's just trying to add more to his game so it's not as predictable.

Speed might not be coached but it sure as hell can be forgotten. And in Milfords case it absolutely has been, in every part of his game. He can't even play the ball quickly. Bennett might have made an error recently with Taylor (which he got plenty of criticism for) but why does everyone keep making excuses for Milford? Bennett isn't the one coaching him to stare at the ref and slowly play the ball. He's not the one coaching him to drop balls left, right and centre. He's sure as hell not coaching him to pass to McGuire on the last or to slowly run sideways and hand it off to a forward for a hit up. He's not coaching him to kick it into the oppositions legs or to put on as much weight as he did last year and the year before. Where is his accountability? He's not an 18 year old kid anymore.

Maybe it’s a sign of laziness and a poor attitude now he’s got a payday. Or that NRL grind is a little too hard.

On the other hand no matter how much you pay someone a job you don’t want to do and doesn’t suit your abilities, it is a job you don’t want to do and aren’t talented at. It’s depressing to excel at everything in your life and then fail. Also he’s been set up for failure to be the next locky when he isn’t (at least not till his late 20s). He may not be an 18 year old kid but he’s not a dominant half either. Btw his market value is based on how he can break a game not manage one.

I'm happy to give him some more time right now to sort out his shit, but come mid season if our seasons in the toilet and he's still dishing out crap like the other night I'll be at front row of the lynch mob with a pitch fork in each hand...
I do still have faith in him and the coaching staff to get it right but that faith will deteriorate pretty quickly this season.
